Just noticed on Guy's forum and interesting comment:

Whazzup, Doc? I got my copy of Tracker yesterday, and am waiting for a good chance to give it a good, uninterrupted listen. I did give the record a proper look, though, and noticed a British Grove Records logo stamped on. Google throws up but three hits if you search for "British Grove Records". I was wondering, is this merely to say that the record was recorded and so on at Brit Grove, or has a small label been set up based on the studio?

The first record on BGR

That surely is exciting for Mark - a studio of his own and his own label. I think we discussed that possibility when he was haggling with Warner Brothers before they finally split up.

Realistically this is probably about as exciting as a new pair of shoes.....

Maybe they'll head down to their local and hoist a pint; make a toast. It's just another branch for the business though. It's a tool. What Mark's management and accounting team uses it for; or how they operate it might make it useful, or possibly even interesting to them.

Like a new pair of shoes.

Anyone can have their own record label. It's just a matter of having the idea and the need for it, and registering a name. <_<
Cheers,

Your right though, many artists have had their own label, most don't really come to anything though.
