Yet another classic that just rolls on Geordie boy.. Lost to the fogs of Tyne and the Delta blues.. MK is so under (& un-) appreciated it defies belief..

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad to see new members, especially ones who post!

I have to agree with you about both the song and the fact that Mark is unappreciated and underappreciated. It kind of irks me! :dielol: It may, in part, be because he was Dire Straits for so many years. A few years ago I wanted to play something the 'new' Mark had written for a friend who let me know that he didn't like DS, so he wouldn't even listen to it! I thought that was pretty narrow minded of him. The flip side of the coin is, of course, that some people only want to think of Mark's music as DS rock music. Frankly, I think they are missing a lot! :P

Great words Linda :)

The fact is, Mark has been a solo artist longer than he was in DS, and he has released more albums under his own name than the DS name, so it is time he got the appreciation he deserves, he is a great guitar player great lyric writer, great songwriter, great producer :) which is actually a rare thing, lots of people are great at one or two of those, but not all of them!!!

Fare Thee Well Northumberland is a great track too, It doesn't get talked about much, but I really like it.

Welcome to the forum too :)
