Why Aye Man from the single of the same name is better version than the studio one in my opinion. At least I think it has just evolved slightly there. For me the best is the way song fades as it's closing to its end. You can feel the melancholy in the final of the song as they "drinking old town dry and keeping their spirits levels high". Great is that that with every next repetition the melancholy becomes even greater only "quieter" (as the song becomes) until it has faded away finally. Now, in the end melancholy is gone - or still there but suppressed deep down in the vault. After all has happened they found themselves content as they had earned some money, found their wives and better lodgings even their own houses perhaps. They only miss their homes sometimes... |
