Here are the lyrics I believe are correct. Please correct if you find are not...
And maybe little help about some I left at the bottom of the lyrics...

Got no books in my house, got no time for those
No room in my closets, closet's full of clothes
Garage full of wheels babe, boat house full of boat
The lifestyle ideal babe, that's what gets my vote

All the Villa's on the hillsides, gotta have a view of the sea
Villas of the empire, way back in history
They have slaves for the galleys and the kitchens
Gardens and the vines slaves for the beautiful people
Bring water food and wine

A slave to tie your bib, another one to carry it
So now I'll take my crib, I dig my chariot dig my crib
And my long black Cadillac coming forth to carry me home, dig my crib
And my long black Cadillac coming forth to carry me home

England calls me vulgar, I'd call myself refined
Good bye old England, Simon's off to sunny climes
Look who's doin' it now babe! look who's doin' it now!
Look who's doin' it now babe! look who's doin' it now!

Always was an early bird, with something on the side
Better buy this better buy that, maybe let that baby ride
Out here every day it's hot, and I'm talking to my men
Working this working that, working on my master plan

A slave to tie my bib, another one to carry it
So now I'll take my crib, I dig my chariot dig my crib
And my long black Cadillac, coming forth to carry me home, dig my crib
And my long black Cadillac coming forth to carry me home

Now here's the hot-tub, here's the gym
Here's the pool that I swam in
Up the stairs my footprints led, to the bedroom and to my bed
Up the stairs my footprints led, to where I lay my bosom head

Sleep the long sleep of the dead
I'm and early bird that's what I said
Early bird,
Early bird,
Ooh! I'm an early bird.

What about "dig my crib", "so now I'll take my crib" and "dig my chariot"?
I believe these refer to his residence and his car, "gaily" get from the job he is doing?

and a "bosom head"? I don't seem to find what to think here at all? only that I would suspect is about "stupid, dummy" head? Is this something common to say?

p.s.
as far as I can see, the song is about Simon Cowell!

hi again,
...and that - when it says "dig my crib" or "dig my chariot", actually refers how he likes/adores his own villa/car? (kinda self praise and self admiration trip) Is that correct context?

Hi Stanko,

Yes, it certainly appears the song is about Simon C.

So the phrases "dig my crib" and "dig my chariot", would likely refer to his personal pride about his home and car respectively. "Crib" is urban American slang for a house or place of residence.

The line in the chorus about his long black Cadillac "...coming for to carry me home" is actually a quote from the old African-American spiritual song, "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot".

I hope this helps.....
Cheers,

Hi Stanko,

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure about that one either, but I do have a theory....

The phrases "in the bosom of the Father" or "the bosom of Jesus" are biblical references to being in a place where you have no cares or worries. Similarly the idea of being near to the bosom or heart of a woman is a common reference to peace and comfort.

So I suspect that Mark's phrase, "where I lay my bosom head" means that when he (Simon) lays down to sleep, he has no more cares or worries.

Anyway, that's my 2 pints worth... :puzzledleft:

I haven't been able to find any reference to any specific incident or anything specific. And it may just be an aversion to the type of individual Simon seems to be. Here is a part of what Wikipedia says about him.

Cowell often makes blunt and controversial comments as a television show judge, including insults and wisecracks about contestants and their singing abilities. He combines activities in both the television and music industries. Cowell has produced and promoted singles and albums for various singers whom he has taken under his wing. He is popularly known for signing successful boybands such as Westlife, One Direction and CNCO.

Cowell typically works into the morning, wakes up at noon and has breakfast in bed. His breakfast consists of hot water with lemon, papaya juice with lime, oatmeal, tea, and health smoothies. Cowell smokes Kool cigarettes and his favourite beers are Corona and Sapporo. He has a collection of cars including a Rolls Royce, a Jaguar E-Type Eagle Speedster, a Bentley Azure, a Ford Bronco and a Smart Car. According to The Sunday Times Rich List of the wealthiest people in the UK, Cowell was worth £325 million in 2015.[1] His annual salary is estimated at $95 million.

Also, since he started out with his talent shows and whatnot in England, maybe there is something in the past we on this side of the pond don't know about. I know Guy has always made some disparaging remarks on his forum in response to anything said about Simon. And of course, never anything specific has ever been said.

Guy always calls him Simon Cowhole :yay: I think both Guy and Mark don't like the whole X-Factor and American Idol thing, the way people are judged on these shows for the amusement of the audience, and I think they have a point, I think shows like that have had their day now anyway, time to give them a rest, the ironic thing on the UK X-Factor seems to be on one hand the winner doesn't seem to have much of a career and within a year or two, they are dropped the the record company, which is the record company owned by Simon Cowell!!! The people who come second or third seem to do better. I have said it before, these shows are not really about talent, they are about popularity, if Mark started today with his singing, guitar playing and songwriting, would he win a talent show? no.

yes, some people just have a nerve for it, must be they really have a sawdust in their blood!
I don't know them, it's not me, but all i know is that I just so enjoy the way Mark observes on them in his songs.

Mark is a great observer, which comes across in his songs, must have been the reporter in him.

I think the 'reporter in him' is why he is so able to be concise in his descriptions of people and what is going on around and with them. Just think of the songs he has written that take 3 - 5 minutes to listen to and were based on huge tomes! :)
