Cadence Andrews
Age: 10 Gender: Female Orientation: Undecided Hometown: New Bark Town, Johto

Appearance:
Cadence is average in height for her age, standing at about 4'3" and weighing in at a whopping 70 lbs. She is thin and undeveloped, as she has just barely begun puberty. Her skin is a pale shade of ivory with dark, thin brown hair that sits neatly upon her head. It is very easy to work with, permitting her to tie it up. However, her favorite style for it are low pigtails that sit at the base of her neck, curling upward. Her eyes are hazel, full of excitement and a shining determination to really go somewhere and make something of herself.
Some might say her manner of dress is peculiar. She wears a hat that practically swallows the top of her head, and will occasionally fall over her eyes if she doesn't keep it in its rightful place. The primary colors of her outfit consist of gold and a charcoal black. With a deep yellow, long-sleeved undershirt and shoes, she can stand out in a crowd. Her short overalls ties the outfit together nicely, and even though Cadence herself is girlier than most might think, she still maintains boyish charm.
When she's not wearing her hat, she will have her bangs pinned out of her face with hair ties or barrettes. She is almost always seen smiling, and refuses to let others get her too down.
Personality:
Cadence is a merry young girl full of life and energy, with an extreme curiosity in Pokemon. Like most children her age, she is naive to the more harsh realities of the world and can be slow-witted at times. She is proud, always holding her head up high like her parents taught her, and brandishing her Trainer's License whenever given the chance. Being a child, she holds no interest in kids of the opposite sex, really; she's far more interested in Pokemon and exploring.
She is not afraid to get down and dirty when she has to, and is not above telling an adult what she thinks is right and wrong. If an adult is "acting out" in her opinion, she will try and set them straight. She doesn't care for know-it-alls or jerks, and will even jump to the rash decision to call her Pokemon out on them.
She is quite capable of being on her own, as she spent nearly a year by herself after sneaking out of her mother's home to adventure as a Pokemon Trainer. Though she gets homesick she does not call her parents, as she is afraid to face their anger. Just like most things, she does not want to confront the problems she may be having, instead brushing them under a metaphorical rug and trying to enjoy carelessness.
Cadence's naivety is her weakest point, as she honestly does not understand how the world truly is outside the safety of civilization. She will run headlong into a dangerous situation, just as she did to get to Sousei, and think little of any consequences. If the bad outcomes of all of these situations finally begins to sink in, it is possible she will become more responsible for herself and Pokemon.
Likes: Being on her own, Pokemon, adventuring, sour foods, hats, the beach, talking Dislikes: Being cooped up, being told what to do, sleeping, getting hurt
History:
Cadence was born ten years ago on a rainy day in April. Her parents were not married- they were not even engaged. In fact, about all they had been before her was "friends with benefits", but both of them had been willing to step up and take care of her. They did not operate as normal parents did- her father lived in the bustling city of Goldenrod, while her mother resided in the windy New Bark Town. Cadence grew used to both the countryside and the city, but neither really interested her. Occasionally she would hang around Professor Elm's lab and watch all of his research. Some of it really bored her and some of it she just plain didn't understand, but then there were times when he gave Pokemon away to people. That intrigued her a lot.
She was only eight when she decided she wanted some Pokemon for herself. She approached her mother with the whole question rehearsed and ready, but her mother instantly shot her down, saying she was far too young to even think about going on a journey yet. Cadence, however, had other ideas; she did NOT like being cooped up at home all the time, When her mother escorted her to Goldenrod to visit her father again, as soon as her mom was out the door, she asked her Dad to help her get a Pokemon.
Clarence was not the guy to talk to Genevieve unless he had to- not because he hated her or anything, but because she was kind of a busybody- and so he took Cadence's word for it. He called up Professor Elm and asked him to send a Totodile, Cadence's choice of starter, to his house on the double. The Poke Ball arrived by Delibird just a little while later, and she named her new Water Pokemon Viscerus. He was feisty for sure, and her father was a little unsure of letting such a dangerous Pokemon around his daughter- but Cadence punished him properly whenever he bit anything he shouldn't, including herself. She has a prominent bite mark on her right arm to this day.
For the next year, she kept Viscerus as a pet, forging a bond with the little guy she didn't think she could ever break. She was always sure to keep the Poke Ball hidden when she went back to her mother's, only letting him out when she was in her room and the door was shut. Finally, one day she asked her mother if it would be alright for her to depart on her own Pokemon journey. Her mother, again, said no.
Cadence was not going to take no for an answer. That night, she snuck out through her window, leaving only a note telling her mother that she was going on an adventure. She and Viscerus were on the road, and Cadence was only nine. Together they tried to catch many Pokemon, but the only success was in a Mareep that Cadence decided to name Aurora.
Around that time she started seeing fliers for some land known as 'Sousei'. She traveled all the way to Olivine City to try and get on the boat, but the sailors turned her away, not wanting a little girl to go to such a dangerous island all by herself. She persisted, and they threatened to call her parents if she didn't go away. Cadence, having gotten this far on lies and tricks, wouldn't let this be any different. She wasn't going to have her path blocked by anyone. She stowed away in the cargo hold of the ship in the middle of the night, falling asleep with her bag and Pokemon in her arms to keep herself safe. When she woke up in the morning, she had the vague sensation of sea sickness; the boat had set off.
Now that she is in Sousei, a lot of Trainers seem weirded out by such a young child by herself. Due to this, Cadence tries to keep a low profile, not wanting anyone to try and locate her parents and send her back to Johto.
Family: Clarence Andrews- Father, alive. Living in Goldenrod City, Johto. Genevieve Andrews- Mother, alive. Living in New Bark Town, Johto.
