Hey there everyone, new board new start so to speak. :P

Firstly I need to know who’s in, and who’s out. Clean slate for everyone and if you want to pull any PC’s because they’re not working out the way you want them to then this is the time. If you want to change PC’s for another that’s fine as well. It’s also the time where I need to know how often people plan to post here, I’m hoping for at least two posts per week from everyone. I’m also not unaware of my laxness in the posting dept, but its time for new leaves to be turned and so on… :D

The new thread will be started at around 5PM tomorrow, so if you can try and reply before then that would be just peachy. :D

I'm gonna pull Bran.. he's even boring me and I'm playing him..!

I think I'll stick to more colorful characters from now on, like Francis or even the delightfully deranged Skafloc.

If you want to bring Skaffers back in then cool, as I said a fresh slate for everyone, kinda like DW has done in his game but without the rewind to the same degree...:P

Skaffers is more fun. Hmmmmm... okay. Skaffers it is then.

How does that work - will we just change (un)reality and assume Skaffers didn't leave, but Bran did?

Eo just asked me to reply for him, and says, "Yeah, we'll just basically assume that those who are being dropped left on our return to the Mistmaster. Any new PC's will have been introduced at the meeting that had occured at lunch."

EDIT: PS Cas, I do still have Skaffers sheet, so I'll post it up for you. :D

So, why am I drawn to oddball pcs that are either properly mad or sociopaths?

Because they're interesting and do things you'd get arrested for trying? :P I personally enjoy kidding myself that my PC's have righteous anger. Meh, who am I fooling?

Mwa, if you want an opinion- I'd say stick with one PC. It's just a lot easier that way. But that's only my opinion. :)

I'm in. I think I'll pull Isil though. It's hard enough staying out of depression myself, without him dragging me even further down. I swear, it hurts just to try to think like him.

Not sure who the replacement would be, though.

Oh, and we'd be ECL 19, right?

I'm sticking with who I already have, I believe Pamela is as well. That leaves Sidhe and Lathlain still to decide. ;)

It's freaky ass seeing you refer to us by screen name :P

I'm in. I believe Ed is too, though he's useless and hasn't registered yet. Which may roughly translate as 'though I keep banging on about it I haven't actually got round to sending him the url'.

I'll do that now. My bad. :P

An arcanist, yes. Maybe a sorcerer... maybe a bard... maybe a mystic theurge... maybe an enchanter or illlusionist. Someone with personality this time. I'm still not sure.

Maybe not a bard--we have one don't we? Can you handle a psion? I think I'd like to try one...

Also - sorry for the silence, Lath and I have been on holiday. Well... as in 'not going to work and enjoying some time together'. (Please Cas, Eo, no smutty comments :P).

I won't bother with retrospective posts as that'll slow us down, just assume Nerissa's been uncharacteristically silent and put it down to nerves or something :P

The fey'ri look like elves with demonic features, or particularly fey fiends. They are capable of magically altering their features somewhat, but in their natural form they have skin with fine scales, fiery red eyes, demonic pointed tails, and a pair of bat-like wings, in addition to their sun elven beauty.

Originally, information on the fey'ri was scarce (restricted to the Monsters of Faerun book only) and their physical description did not include the wings (although the illustration did). Due to this, Fade does not have wings (I thought it was a bit odd for an entire tiefling 'race' to have them, and so decided (due to the lack of info at the time) that those with recent demon relatives had them and those whose demon ancestor was a a few generations back didn't), but the others very well could have.

Bloody Dn'D, always amending the rules... :P

Regarding the Ch. sheet DW I had covered it off in my own stuff, simply because it did it automatically.

See above really, some have wings and some don't but they all have the look of elven tieflings really, when I get home I'll check to see what other books they're in but if not I'll do my damndest to describe them well...:D

Cas I've tried to recreate exactly what Skaffers used to have and think I've got it all sorted so if you're prepared to trust me then cool.

Just for ease of checks etc can everyone do some dice rolling for me at some point soon?

I simply want something like this;

3x of Reflex saves
3x of Fortitude saves
3x of Will saves
5x Rolls for Skills etc

I only ask because it'll help me keep things flowing when you guys aren't on line... :P

Oooh, actually, I don't have a dice rolling program either - I was just going to roll standard dice on my table and hope I was trusted! ;) (I have no reason to cheat or fudge rolls - considering I've been tabletopping for 7 years straight now, I. know failing rolls can be just as fun as making them  Yay for failing Will saves!!)

Mwa - the dice rolling aspect is really easy (even I get it, so it must be...) basically, you're trying to beat a score. On your char sheet, your character will have different numeric attributes associated with stats, skills, attacks, armour and saves. Rolling basically involves rolling a 20-sided dice and adding what you roll to the relevant skill / save / attack you're trying to make e.g. a character is trying to poison you with a poison that has a DC (difficulty class) of 19. That means you have to get a score of 19 or above the prevent the poison from working. You then roll the D20 and add it to your fortitude save - if you get 19 or above, you're okay; if you get less - you're poisoned. Same goes with skills - you're trying to hide from an enemy. You roll your D20 and get a (for example) 9 - you then add this to your Hide skill (for these purposes, let's say it's 12) making your Hide check 21. This means that the enemy have to roll a 21 or above on their spot checks to see you (and the same works vice versa when the enemy is trying hide from you :) ).

With attacking, you're trying to beat the enemies AC by adding your attack bonuses to what you roll in basically the same way as above... there's actually not a lot to it once you get going (3ed was such a godsend to those of us who stuggle with maths... Thac0 was the bane fo my life!). If you don't have a D20 to hand, then I'm sure there must be a way of getting a random number generator if necessary - it depends how much Eocine wants us to roll! ^_^

Okay, thanks Elysia. :)

Question: Is there any shadow around for Jonas to make a spring attack from? That's why he didn't make an attack yet 'cause I don't know if there's shadow enough for him to travel through and attack the men.

Question 2: Do you have the improved character sheet of Jonas, Eo? I don't have it myself, all I could get was the old one without the new weapons and other things.

In a way it's acase of better the Devil... but in others, it means they are used to me so I can't do the 'beginning of term bitch from hell routine' with them. Most of them are actually quite sweet - there's just a hardcore of about 4 girls that need to be drowned in the bath (I petitioned to have that line added in the reports comment bank, but although most of the other teachers liked the idea, we felt parents might not like it... :P). I'll just annoy them by sitting them in a seating plan, explain that this is the beginning of their GCSE's and if they want to bugger about, well there's the door... ;)

Have you ever considered investing in a flame-thrower? I hear it does wonders for class discipline... ;)

Seriously I use to have a maths teacher who'd hurl his shoe at the first sign of any misbehaviour, and when you've been hit in the head with a hush-puppy you learn to be quiet... :P

Jeez, I wish... we're supposed to try to 'negotiate' with our pupils.

Ever tried to negotiate with a 13 year old? <_<

No... Only with their parents over the whole 'pressing charges' thing...

I kid I KID!!!...:P

Seriously though I remember how bad some of us were and I never once envied the teachers.

Well... Apart from one teacher because it was rumored he was sleeping with our fit music teacher... ;)

I had a teacher who chucked those wooden blackboard rubbers at us. Fun!

I of course was a star pupil, so well behaved, as Miss E will doubtless find out now she's here. B)

A teacher once threw a piece of chalk at me....

In college.

Hey, he was the most boring prof I'd ever seen; I at least bothered to stay awake for his damned slide shows in our class. Can you imagine that I was bored enough that I started playing finger-puppets with another class-mate during one? And I was the strait-laced nerdy, brainy type!

Oh god, yes! Madness didn't set in until my late twenties.

Two rounds of actions described there, and my Heal skill check is 24, so Fade should be safe from now on if her own rolls aren't good. :D The cure Minor Wounds to stabilise her if she was in the negatives. Now just to wait for her to come to consciousness.

I imagined that she was literally doen to 3 or 4 HPs by the time Llana got to her, and since an arrow normally does D6 damage (+ any pluses / effects), I reasoned that she would haven ended up on around -4 when Llana pulled out the arrow.

Do you want any fort saving throws for the primary effects of the poison?

EDIT: Just in case, I rolled a 15 on her fort saving roll, so 15+11 = 26.

Nope, but he can still attack by flailing around with his axe, there's only a 20% miss chance for him so he might as well unload... :P I'll send you his sheet tomorrow mate...

Yeah, I know I'm a round ahead, but the hubby thought it wasn't fair to have poor Fade out when we're pretty close to the end of this particular battle. So, just assume when the rest of y'all are done and out of that orb of darkness, we're all caught up. :)

No worries, he's convincingly lucid most of the time. :D

Just don't be an orc. Or an elf. He's possibly had enough of elves, with good reason. Oh, or a vampire elf. Don't be one of those either. Or my little ponies. Don't ask him about the voices, and don't pretend you have a sword that's your bestest friend. Umm, that's about it I think..

The elf thing is a long story too, but I'm sure Eo and Pammy would back me up if I said it would trouble the sanity of most characters. Most gamers too..

Well Mwa my man the important details are this;

Only 18 seconds have passed

A big ball of blackness appeared and there were sounds of fighting from within

We interrupted the rape of a female Fey'ri

Now what Jonas could easily have been doing in this period is making sure that there's no one else about, it would be a valid use of the time, and given that he can't see in the darkness any more than the others can he might reason that an overabundance of cooks would spoil the broth and decide to stay away and scout?

I'd just have him checking around for any other enemies that may have been attracted to the sound of combat, or may even have been with this group but were in a differet area. Then you can walk him back to the main group where they're only now starting to talk to Fade.

See, more than workoutable... :)

Terry...Pratchett...TERRY PRATCHETT! Men at Arms if I remember correctly!

But now Cas has sparked another reference with his lugging of that corpse. Can any of you tell me which book had a scene with a character lugging a body (which I think was unconscious, not dead)? There's a riot or war going on, and someone says, "Hey, you're not supposed to bring your own, you know..."

EDIT: God DAMN it will I ever learn to notice that I'm not logged in under my own name?!

Okay, now I'm curious...

(Although if it's anything like the naked elven druid group my arcane archer met whose leader invited Iannath to 'grasp his mighty staff and worship at his altar' (please note: said elven druid did indeed have a staff, and he was also near an altar, but simply the smile on my DM's face whilst I tried to weasel my way out of the situation was enough to know what was going on...sometimes, I HATE my DM), I can kind of understand...)

Yep, Vimes describing Carrot. Dunno if it was GG, though. I plagerise Pratchett a lot of the time... :D Still waiting for him to come and slap a naughty sticker on me for the rip- off Mrs. Cake I did with Aran Linvail's mum!

Hmmm... lugging bodies... was that Interesting Times? I can't remember...

Righty ho - ummm, now I must be sheepish. Please tell me if I'm posting too much and running ahead of myself. I get awfully over-excited about these things and, given an inch, I tend to take 5000 miles. If I do start going a bit mad, just tell me to shut up, okay?

EDIT: Is that fey'ri alive? Ooooh, thetemptation to go all Mallon on its arse... very tempting!

Edit to reply to the edit... It is still alive, but it's a technicality really... ;)
