... all at the same time, knowing him. Well, a girl's gotta have a hobby. One other than obsessing over Stargate Atlantis, that is. (I know, I know, it's shameful... just got rid of the SG1 obsession and avoided SGA at first due to said burgeoning and slightly embarrassing SG1 problem, then caught SGA by accident a few weeks ago... whoops. Ronon Dex completely overtaken T'ealc as alien eye candy of choice and once again have the nasty, insinuating urge to join the USAF and become an adventuring astrophysicist. Bugger.) Have fun away, Cas! :) |

Sorry about posting delay - had Year 9 Options Evening last night, and now I'm in a sulk because we've lost Sky One due to the whole Virgin / Sky debacle and therefore Stargate... ONLY 2 EPS TO GO UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON!!! Why couldn't they have just waited for 2 weeks?! I am therefore wounded and mentally scarred. Do not doubt that it will be reflected in Fade's actions... :P |

We've got to the point where we're just going to cancel the cable again - without Sky One (which is basically why we had the basic package in the first place...) there isn't much point in forking out for what amounts to shite channels... oooh. Living TV. I must contain my excitement... Still... feck. Looks like I'm going to have to see the last SG1 and Atlantis eps via blurry You Tube. (Although this disappointment has meant that I have managed to wangle an Atlantis Season 2 box set out of hubby due to my crushing disappointment at missing the end of Seaon 3... :P) |

Quick! Do you have the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch? ".First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." :D What a classic. |

Heya guys.... just to let you know I've had the worst 3 days in history (okay, so hyperbole is a hobby of mine, but they have been pretty shitty) and with imminent arrival of Step Mother in Law (yep, I get 2 MiL's! Hooray!), I'm about ready to jump off the roof right now. Basically it all started on Wednesday with me being the last person to get away from Parents Evening (3 hours non stop talking to parents after a full day's teaching? Nice!). Then we had to go to a family funeral in London on Thursday - travelling time of over 6 HOURS overall - again, didn't get home until late and added nastiness of Uncle Mick's funeral being completely about how great God is and not about Uncle Mick at all (I am making it plain to eveyone now that I want a Civil service when I die and don't want the Church ANYWHERE NEAR ME WHATSOEVER...) which ended up with most of the family being annoyed rather than celebrating Mick's life. Then, to top it all off, got home from work yesterday and my front door had seized up... by the time hubby got home and we'd called a locksmith out (and they'd turned up), I had been outside my house for nearly 3 hours - and I was charged £100 for the priviledge! Hurrah! And when we finally did get in, we found out that the cats had thrown up all over the front room... *insert scream here* SO... yeah. That's why I haven't been here for the last 3 days. And since house is a shite hole due to the fact that I've either been at work, on a train or being locked out side of my house, I now have to spend my Saturday cleaning everything up in time for self-invited family member. *tick under left eye goes, cracks knuckles...* |

Did Karosin just sneak out, not acknowledging anyone, yet noone made a big deal of it? Tarlyn might find this a bit odd but won't really act upon it.He will surely be surprised by it though :) There's already a Drowess and a Lycanthrope, evil at that, in the party, so another "strange" person won't ruffle him :) |

Yeah... Sorry guys but Vaerilmor isn't actually visible. Darkwind if you want to change your post to have him target someone else that's cool, and Tarlyn if you wouldn't mind doing similar that would be great. |

Greg ought to still have that True Seeing up... Well, if the bugger is not visible, I'll just attack someone else. Hm. Better be careful about moving around the room now, guys, on account of that Forbiddance. |

Tarlyn is Neutral Good, for the effects of the Forbiddance spell, which is cast in the room where Vaerilmor is, not where we are.I'lll edit my post after I cast that spell because any non spellcasters might not know what the spell does and should be prepared, if they plan on enterring the room, for the possible damage. |

Just a quick point, yes I am aware of the True Seeing spells in effect, but Vaerilmor is still not visible, for the simple fact that he's standing out of sight. ;) |

For those who dont know what the Forbiddance Spell does here is the description: Forbiddance seals an area against all planar travel into or within it. This includes all teleportation spells (such as dimension door and teleport), plane shifting, astral travel, ethereal travel, and all summoning spells. Such effects simply fail automatically. In addition, it damages entering creatures whose alignments are different from yours. The effect on those attempting to enter the warded area is based on their alignment relative to yours (see below). A creature inside the area when the spell is cast takes no damage unless it exits the area and attempts to reenter, at which time it is affected as normal. Alignments identical No effect. The creature may enter the area freely (although not by planar travel). Alignments different with respect to either law/chaos or good/evil The creature takes 6d6 points of damage. A successful Will save halves the damage, and spell resistance applies. Alignments different with respect to both law/chaos and good/evil The creature takes 12d6 points of damage. A successful Will save halves the damage, and spell resistance applies. At your option, the abjuration can include a password, in which case creatures of alignments different from yours can avoid the damage by speaking the password as they enter the area. You must select this option (and the password) at the time of casting. Dispel magic does not dispel a forbiddance effect unless the dispeller’s level is at least as high as your caster level. You can’t have multiple overlapping forbiddance effects. In such a case, the more recent effect stops at the boundary of the older effect. |

Well here we go... ;) Be aware it's not totally to scale by any means, but it should suffice in general terms. The colour keying at this stage is kinda non specific but it should be obvious enough who's who. Skaffer's and Caine are grouped together, Fade and Karo likewise. The three clerics make up the yellows, Kell is on his own and DW's two PC's are together. The enemy are thus; M= Marilith Gh= Ghour Gl= Glabrezu AD= Arrow Demons F= Fey'ri casters FF= Fey'ri fighters |

Good question there DW. If I understand the map properly, my spell is behind the demons because I said I was targetting Vaerilmor in the room, not the hallway. That being the case, the demons are out of the room, so unless Eo says different about my spell, you can cast it upon the demons and such :) |

Btw - done a new Fade pic ;) Click on the image to view properly http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52816275/ (Note - irritating contrast problem upon uploading to DA irritating me... pic wasn't so dark in photoshop. Cas - you're the expert - do you know why it's done that?) |

Err.. *thinks* DA converts the image you've uploaded rather than use the exact same file iirc..(?) so I'm guessing it's stripping out the colour working space assigned to it (these are different standards to ensure colour stability between certain programs and devices - a lot more relevent if you're working in CMYK for print, but still important if absolute colour matching is your bag in RGB) that's been assigned to it for maximum compatibility. That would make a difference. |

Sorry for taking so long to post, but boy did I ever need this weekend! Llana's cast beforehand: Status (thought I did it earlier but not the first time I've been wrong); Protection from Energy; Spell Immunity Major (Llana) and Minor (Karo); Bless; and Mind Blank. During combat: Banishment! |

Yea... Or, you could just stop casting it and do something else for round 2. I'm not sure of the rules, but it might even mean you haven't wasted the spell. |

To cast a spell that takes rounds (is not instantaneous, quickened or takes more than a standard action to cast), you have to cast it in consecutive, uninterrupted rounds or the spell automatically fails. If you lose concentration or stop casting before the spell is complete, it is wasted (you lose it completely). |

This what I thought. I am going under the presumption that I lose my first turn, and on the next one I cast the Flame Strike :) Otherwise if I do keep casting the Forbiddance, I will be absolutely useless to the party. It is a decent spell but right now not helpful. Only if we had more time. |

Yep, that's fine, you lose this round of actions during your abortive attempt to cast the spell, which is also lost, but you can then cast a new spell in the next round. (Which will be starting tonight once I've posted the 'response' from the demons etc. ;) |
