Talos Kosh and Selan Kiyra sit idly by in the Works, the rusting industrial center of Coruscant, staking out one of the terrorist groups they were given intel on. They were heavily armed for how amatuerish they seemed and were getting ready for somthing big, and soon. The window of opportunity was closing, but they had few resources... Damian Rayne and Michael Snow sit aboard a dreadnaught with thousands of other Sith as the invasion breaches the Core proper. Up until now, their life has revolved around the grueling training designed to replace their very identities. The former has bridled under this attempted brainwashing, the latter has only pushed himself further... Vorian Rath and Shikamura DaRey reside on a troopship hovering over the reorganized Wraith fleet. Their original unit is a fraction of what it once was, but they have finally been give greater responsibility than auxiliary cannon fodder. For now the handful of surviving Volunteers must watch over three times as many slave soldiers... Alex Chan and Kob Korn are stuck in Fort Zero, awaiting further orders. They have both been given recognition for the parts they've played defending the Republic, with the former being awarded the Navy Cross for spectacular frigate-killing skills. Yet these achievements ring hollow in the face of so many dead comrades, with the worse yet to come... Kirabi Cloud and Taji Basra have made their way to the Jedi Temple, where Cloud speaks with the Council while Taji trains his swordmanship. In light of his recent service above and beyond the call of duty, the Council is willing to avoid detaining him provided they may test him. Regardless, they urge Cloud to consider joining them if he really is devoted to the Light. This all becomes moot, however, once the power to the Temple goes out... Aer Wulf walks nervously through the halls of Besh Station, the communications hub of Coruscant's orbital defense. The Pilfering Pirates and a few others of their kind have infiltrated the space station dressed as crew, but the entire atmosphere aboard the construct is one of fear. Every Rep is nervous and paranoid and the slightest provocation can set the whole keg to blow. It is in the face of that Wulf is given the crucial task of disabling the artificial gravity so the space raiders can do their deadly work... [I rather everyone posts here, though I can allow using Faction threads for the initial stages. However, once it gets into the thick of it I want everyone to communicate with their teammates effectively. It will boil down to two sides here, the Republic and the invaders. Sith and Mando players and Airwolf are invaders, while everyone else is at least associated with the Republic. I need Wolf to take an action first before the military players can start, and for Poj and Ayu to decide whether to directly aid the Republic and get them involved in their schemes] |

Biting her lip, Selan looked through her optical device at the guards milling about the entrance to the terrorists' hideout. Those guns look really dangerous... Glancing behind her at Kosh, she muttered. "Where're those mercenaries you were supposed to hire? Everything's going to hell up in orbit and this'll be our only chance." |

Before Talos could even answer, his holonet receiver went off to indicate he had a message. Someone named Ghelen Woaran, leader of an outfit calling themselves the Burning Walkers was inquring about the job. He was conveniently located in one of the poor excuses for a tavern in the Works. |

Kirabi sharply turned his head upward towards the failing lights, cursing under his breath. Great, even the Jedi Temple isn't secure....I wonder if its that Darth Ira, he had demanded the surrender of the temple earlier. I suppose there's worse places to be during an invasion than the center of Jedi power though. Kirabi turned to the masters he had been speaking to, saying softly "After this is all settled we will see about me joining your order, for now though it seems we have business to handle. My team is ready to support as requested, we're all in this war together after all." Kirabi looked back at his two team members, the reliable Tula who stood at his side during the attack of Darth Ira, and the practical Giquo who went and sought help from the Republic when things looked too dire to overcome. He nodded to them both, trusting them to be there at his side in the coming chaos, just as he will be there for them. And Aaros, wherever you are, don't let yourself get killed....that's a privilege I want for myself. |

When the message finished playing, Talos gave a wink along with a wry smile to his employer. "Have a little faith in me, will ya, Selly?" he asked. "Burning Walkers of course. Located at that shitty tavern close by. Shall we?" Talos will head over to the tavern and see if he can locate the gang. If not he will ask the bartender if he could point out the man known as Ghelen Woaran. |

Rolling her eyes, Selan motioned for Kosh to lead the way, casting one last glance back at the idle guards. ... Pausing outside the door of the cantina, she pulled her hood over her head and slipped in, content to be as discreet as possible and let her idiot of an enforcer do the talking. |

(It just occurred to me that this message came through a holonet receiver. I have one of those now. Sweet. So I know what he looks like.) After entering the tavern, Talos will look around and find his mark. Once he does, he will approach and take a seat across from him. "Mr. Woaran," he said with a confident smile. "My name is Konrad Cruze. Shall we discuss the terms and details of the job?" |

Woaran didn't answer at first, just knocked back his drink and swallowed it in one gulp. His companions, who flanked him on either side, eyed Talos warily. The merc finally spoke up, matter-of-factly yet icy cold. "You look...oddly familiar. You ever been to Corellia?" |

Talos stared directly into Woaran's eyes, hoping to keep the mercenary's attention focused on his own eyes rather than his whole face. "More times than I can remember," he said nonchalantly. "I've been all over the core with this type of job, I'm sure you can imagine." Talos took a mental note of the number of men at Woaran's sides. "Is this your entire outfit? Or do you have more men you can call on?" |

The merc on the left slowly got out of his chair and Talos heard a corresponding chair pushing behind him. Woaran promptly grabbed his companion and waved the other off. He glanced over at Selan, who had been trying to subtly prepare for a fight when she saw the situation forming. "Forgive my troops, they get a little protective when they think someone is mocking their brothers. We forged our bond in the fires of Corellia, during that hell on earth they have the nerve to call a riot now. I was picked up by CorSec for questioning, after some fatass trader tried to rip me off for a protection run. Apparently this bean counter got himself into some type of trouble, 'cause those corrupt pigs tried to beat his location of me." "Of course, I didn't know shit about the guy, so they threw me into processing. A little while later, some beef between Exchange and Hutt thugs erupted in the whole cell block and the power out. It was even worse when we rushed outside. You couldn't even call it an uprising. Everyone just wanted to take whatever they could and kill whoever got in their way. A group of us grabbed what supplies we could and fought our way off the planet. We literally walked through a city aflame - thus why we're called the Burning Walkers." "There's enough of us to complete whatever pansy job you have in mind. We've already been through hell, so there's nothing worse you can give us. But now, I have question for you. What exactly is this job about?" |

"No disrespect intended," Talos said with a nod. "I wasn't on Corellia at the time, but I've heard about what's going on. That you made it out alive and stronger than ever speaks volumes for your skills." He took a quick peek at where Selan was before continuing. "The job is a terrorist cell's hideout. Get all the weapons, supplies and loot you want. Not to mention your pay from me. During the chaos that's been going on lately no one will know or care if they're wiped off the map. Everyone wins. Except them. "Now for your payment. 20,000 credits plus loot. Do we have a deal?" |

Selan said nothing during the whole exchange, merely standing there and observing the mercenaries around them. Upon hearing Kosh begin listing their payment for the job, however, she started forward and elbowed the loud mouth to shut it. Gods above. He doesn't understand any aprt of the word 'discreet', does he? Hood still down, Selan quietly spoke up. "Ignore him. This is a sanctioned CSF operation against known terrorist cells in the city. You get twenty thousand credits, and half of any weapons or supply cache we find in there." |

Content to let his employer do the negotiating, Talos remained silent and waited for Woaran to react to Selan's sudden intrusion. |

Now people all around the room stood up and Woaran did nothing to stop them. Talos and Selan heard the audible sounds of blasters clicking on and vibroblades scraping against their scabbards as they were drawn. "They're fracking cops Ghelen! Let's tie them in something and throw 'em in the smelter." Woaran didn't reply, but just looked between Selan and Talos thoughtfully. He fnally stood up and walked closer to both of them. "Who are you really working for?" |

Unable to stay silent after the latest development, Talos decided to seize the initiative. "Please excuse my associate, Mr. Woaran," he said calmly, trying to diffuse the situation. He smiled at what he said next. "She's a bit socially awkward, but she looks pretty at least." He hoped that degrading her like this would help relax Woaran. "That was her idea of a joke. I mean, what kind of cop puts out an advertisement like I did? And then reveals their identity in an establishment like this?" He folded his hands on the table to show that he was not armed and had no intention of harming any of the Burning Walkers. "We're working for ourselves. And I have the utmost faith in the ability of you and the rest of the Burning Walkers to do this job. Now then, the deal she proposed to you. Do we have an agreement?" |
