The battle over and on Dromund Kaas has been one shrouded in propaganda and mystery. The final strike by a Republic secretly led by the Revanite faction, it supposedly smashed the hidden Sith Empire to bits and wiped their teachings from the galaxy once and for all. Recent events have proven this to be false, and even though the full history has not been completely uncovered it can be concluded that this battle provided the seeds for the foundation of the current Sith Empire.

Not much is known about how the alliance between Revan and Meetra Surik was formed, but it is known that shortly after the Battle of Telos IV that the two joined forces and created a cabal of former Sith, Dark Jedi, Mandalorians, Republic dissidents, and many others to infiltrate the power structure of the Republic and prepare it to face the hidden Sith Empire on Dromund Kaas. They worked over the next few years with allies and former enemies alike to install sympathizers in key positions - some of the most important of those a newly reconstituted Jedi Order, the Senate, as well as military commands and corporate boards across the galaxy.

The Empire had been rebuilding for a thousand years, but even with all that time it was still no match for even a damaged Republic, especially led by Revan and one bolstered by the unlikeliest of allies. Former Revanite Sith military, former Krath fanatics, Mandalorian Crusaders, Onderonians, Hutts, Chiss, and even Exchange thugs were counted among the motley assortment that was assembled to invade Sith space. How Revan accomplished this in such a short span of time is a mystery, but the effect was overwhelming.

Still, the Sith Emperor himself was an immensely powerful being, and no doubt the story of many Jedi falling before him masked how many were willingly sacrificed by Revan to weaken him. As it is now known that the eventual slayer of the Emperor, future Council member Bao-Dur, was a Revanite agent himself, it can be deduced that Revan and Surik must have had some of involvement in that final battle, but sadly nothing has come to light. However, given the quick access and knowledge the new Sith have had of the old Empire's past strongholds lends credence to the theory that at least some of the survivors sided with Revan and paved the way for the current resurgence.
