| Station Square and all of the administators appreciate your cooperation and hope you enjoy the exciting information and community boards at Station Square Forums. To help keep this place a suitable environment, keep the following in mind when posting messages. Use of the Station Square message boards for the promotion of illegal activities or posting of any materials that violate the rights of any third party is prohibited. Your participation in message boards is subject to review, modification, and deletion, without notice, by the forum manager responsible for the boards. Scripts, images, files or other devices other than basic text must not be harmful in any way shape or form. Harmful messages on the message boards can result in deletion of message and/or loss of your Station Square user account. You may not attempt to "flood" or disrupt the public areas on the Station Square Forums message boards. Disruption is defined as posting to a forum a large number of messages which contain no substantive content and where normal discussion in the forum is significantly hindered. Examples of disruptive activities include, but are not limited to, posting multiple messages with no text in the body, or posting many follow-ups to messages with no new text. Posting in the Station Square Forums boards is a privilege, not a right. Station Square reserves the right to deny access at any time at the discretion of Station Square. Please do not use profanity or sexually explicit language on the message boards. 1337 speak (netspeech) is permitted but it may not be used as a method of censor bypassing. In other words, swearing is not permitted in 1337 speak or any other form of language. Please do not use racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious slurs. Please do not create a Member ID with any profanity, sexually explicit language, sexual innuendo, or racial, ethnic, or religious slurs. Impersonation of Station Square Admins or staff members is prohibited. Threatening or otherwise verbally abusing Station Square administrators is prohibited and can result in immediate termination of your Station Square Forum account. Station Square reserves the right to change its policies at any time. Please help keep the Station Square message boards a clean community. We disclose all personal information on the forum. Other Rules: There are a few more rules which govern all forums, and the Station Square Forums are no different. It can be difficult for new members to get used to forum etiquette, so here are some more rules for ya! Here goes ... The Station Square Forums are a place where you can talk about Sonic, Star Wars, and Garfield with your online friends. These boards are designed to be fun, so have a good time while you're here. Remember not to take me and other things too seriously. There are a billion definitions for flooding, but here's a simple guideline you can follow to make sure that you're not accused of being a flooder: Don't make a post unless you have something relevant to add to the discussion. Also, make sure that you post your thoughts in the proper place (for example, don't post about Sonic games in the Sonic comics board), and don't post the same thread on multiple boards. Remember, it's a lot better to have a small number of intelligent posts than a large number of meaningless posts. Posting "This is Spam" is not the way to fight back against flooding. Please use the "Report" option to report inappropriate posts. If you don't agree with someone on an issue, cool. Go ahead and tell them why you disagree. But do it in an intelligent manner and back up your point of view. Once you make your point, leave it at that. Don't expect the person to immediately drop his or her own beliefs and convert to your opinion. It probably won't happen. But, if you present your argument well enough, that person will probably respect you and be more open to listening to what you have to say. The Station Square Forums have a chat board where you can talk about things other than Sonic, Star Wars, and Garfield as long as its appropriate. RP (Role Playing) threads are only allowed on the RP board. Please be sure to read the Posting Guidelines there before starting a new RP! When you see someone breaking a rule, it's a lot easier to report the abuse to a moderator than it is to confront the person. So, when you spot a troublemaker, simply click the "Report" button. We will get to it soon enough. Remember that it's not your responsibility to police these forums. You're here to have fun! Typing in all caps is the same as shouting, so keep it quiet unless you're really excited about something. When you rank up, please don't make a thread to celebrate. For example, it's not OK to make a thread with a title like "I'm a Rubber Chicken !" or "1,000th Post." If you reach a milestone, though, and you want to make a thread like "What I've Learned Over the Past Months" or something similar, then that's OK. When making topics: To get quick responses and hopefully to people who can help you, it's best if you give a subject of your topic something that relates to what you're talking about. It'll help those who can help you find your topic, and may even make the wait time for an answer or response shorter. There can be such topics that have the title of something completely different than what the poster is saying inside. This is called "bait-n-switch". They say something on the outside to get you in to read it, then it's something else. If you have to use a bait-n-switch tactic then it's probably best the subject isn't posted, or a funny/catchy title should be made. (One that relates to your subject matter though.) There can be such topics that state one thing (could be something that happened in real life) then at the end they go "And to put this on topic..." You've basically admitted to what you've posted is spam, or somewhere along the lines of it. If you have to add "And to put this on topic..." it's probably best that the part before it isn't put in. Topics that don't follow these are subject to being locked/deleted. Thank you for your cooperation. Last, but certainly not least, honesty is very important. Anyone who breaks the rules, which are subject to change, is better off if they admit their fault. Just as sentence in court may be reduced if the plea is guilty, the same goes here. Everyone is expected to be truthful. Some information doesn't have to be given, such as personal information, and practical jokes are sometimes okay as long as they're explained in the end, but the truth is important to us all. Please respect our rules and the guidelines of each and every board when you post on our forums and have fun ! |
