Star Wars Episode III The Game is going to be truly amazing. Graphics are great, but the lightsaber duels are going to be the greatest ever in a game. The game is scheduled for release on 05-05-05, which is a little more than a week before the actual movie. There is one detail that I find extremely disturbing though: it's only being released for Xbox and PS2. Notice that I didn't say Gamecube. Ahh!!! I might have to buy an Xbox > < What do you all think? |

Have y'all watched all four TV ads for the game ? They are so great ! Paper Boy and Dodgeball are my favorite. The official site for the game has occassionally been popping up as an ad on the ad banner of our forum. Cool. B) |

Oh, well, they are actually partially like Jedi Power Battles with your different strength lightsaber strikes being the different action buttons with tons of combos by putting these buttons together in order, but then everything else is totally different and better. So X button (Xbox controller) is the quick slash, Y is medium power, and B is slow but deadly strike. A of course must be jump for there is nothing else left. L is block, but your character does usually block automaticaly when possible, this is just the strongest block which is needed to block close range attacks and to deflect blasts back at opponents. Left Joystick is to move and double clicking in any direction does force dash which allows for dash attacks and all the combos that go with that. There are also tons of combos for moving and attacking, jumping and attacking, and attacking while standing in place. Then R trigger is force push and force grasp: clicking R quickly does force push in the direction you are facing and holding R grabs whatever is force targeted and you can throw it by moving the left joystick in the desired direction. You can force target opponents or objects by moving the right joystick. The R button can also be used to do special tasks with the force at certain points in the game. The white button is for Saber Throw: the longer you hold the button the farther your lightsaber goes. Black button is for force stun/sith lightning: if your character is a jedi then holding Black button stuns targeted enemies and if your character has the ability to use sith lightning then oponents are electricuted until you let go of the button or run out of force power which regenerates by the way. Clicking and holding both joysticks performs force heal as long as you hold or until you run out of force power. This is just a basic layout of the buttons because the controls can go much more in depth with all of the different types of combos and with saber shunts, grapples, and power struggles, not to mention all the counter-moves. So I hope you can see that it's mighty difficult to master the use of a lightsaber. |
