Well, I was looking around at my old RP, and found this mission I did as Ransai. My Fan character. This takes place in the world of pokemon, so there are battles and such in there. But I kinda like this, and even though I made it in November, I would only change the wording around a bit. xP Anyways, I'm just posting this up here because I'm looking for some comments. Took up 21 pages in word, so it's all good. XP Now, onto "Blastoff Ruins" a Story about Ransai heading out on a nightly mission and the mess that follows. Enjoy. Comment. =P
--------------------------------------

Ransai Caradine had been thinking for a while, laying on the couch. 'You know, I don't do much here. My old man always told me if I wanted to have fun with something, it was my responsibility to take initiative. Holds true even on earth, I guess.' He sat up and stared at the wall. “Yeah. I really need to get something done. Best way to do that is to just get out there and do something.” He said to himself. After stretching Ransai hopped off the couch and looked around the room.

It was rather dark as it was only one in the morning. He came out of his room earlier upon deciding that sleep wouldn't come to him tonight, and decided to crash on the couch to think for a while. Thinking only came natural to Ransai. He hadn't much of a choice in that matter, though. The trouble usually came to him and he'd be the one to figure something out to save his butt. Only now he's decided to head out and look for the trouble himself.

“Well, there's always missions posted places. I'll see what Blizz has to offer.” With that, Ransai meandered over to the bulletin board to look for any outstanding threats. Taking out a small pen light from his vest, he read over a few of them and scoffed, to say the least. “Meh. Police can handle these petty things...Hmm. Well take a look at that one...” His eyes had just glanced over something that interested him; Ruins in Mahogany town that seemed to hide an old secret of team Blastoff, and an attempt by that very team to recover it. “Well, I don't know much about these folks, but I can tell this one will be fun.”

He swiped the statement from the board, then began to look for a computer to find a fitting team. “Let's see here... this could be tough... I'll need some equally tough pokemon...” He said. He knew he was going to have to cover many bases on this trip. “Hmm. Swampert, Charizard, Medicham looks nice, Marowak... Let see... Types to look out for with that so far... I'll need something to tussle with grass, so I'll take that Houndour. Maybe evolve it with one of Tails' destiny stones... One more...Breloom. Good.” He withdrew those pokemon from the system and their respective pokeballs appeared on his belt. “Nice. Now it's time for me to hit the road.” Ransai said. He straightened up his vest, then paced outside.

He was greeted by the chilly fall morning air. “Lovely...” He said, rubbing his hands against his arms. His vulpine fuzz that was a staple of his race helped a bit to stave off the chill in the air, but it only helped so much. “Good thing I took out Charizard. Well, come on out!” He called out, tossing out a pokeball. There was a flash, then the sound of a soft growling. The large orangish dragon-like reptilian gazed into the early morning black sky as its tail flame glowed silently.

“Well, Charizard, I know you don't know me very well, but I'm going to be your new trainer. That is, if you'll accept me that is.” said Ransai as he approached Charizard. He set his hand on Charizard's tail and looked up at his eyes. The pokemon glanced down at Ransai and snorted. It seemed he didn't care who his trainer was, as long as the trainer didn't get in the way.

“Well, let's head on out for Mahogany Town. I don't know where that is, but I'm sure you do. So if you don't mind, I'll just climb up on your back.” Ransai said, climbing up onto Charizard's back between his wings. Charizard shifted his feet, then flapped his wings, readying for take-off. With a soft roar, the pokemon spit some fire off, then took off into the sky. Destination Mahogany or bust.

'Well, this will be my first mission. I'm not going to mess this up. I've faced more trying things than this. And a Charizard's skin....well, scales or whatever you call it are rather warm.' Ransai thought to himself. It was his first time riding a flying anything that wasn't a bird or mechanical device. The wind blew through Ransai's hair, giving it an aerodynamic feeling. “Well, I guess Charizard won't mind if I rest my eyes...” Ransai murmured. He let his eyes close, and entered the well known state of half sleep. The conscious mind doing no work, but the unconscious instinctively kept a grasp around Charizard, so Ransai wouldn't fall off.

It hardly felt as if any time passed by at all before Ransai felt a sudden jerk. He opened his eyes and looked around to find that he was on the ground with Charizard, still holding onto his neck. It was still considerably dark out, but Ransai didn't much mind the dark in the first place. He hopped off Charizard's back and examined his surroundings. He was in a heavily wooded area, and buildings could be seen through the woods.

“I must be near Mahogany, then.” Ransai concluded. “You did a good job, Charizard. Thanks.” He said, taking out its pokeball. Charizard shrugged as he was returned to the pokeball. “Well, first things first. Since Blastoff might be swarming the area, I may not be able to keep a low profile around the humans. I'll just have to be careful, and if any try to start any trouble with me, I'll just have to kicketh butt and taketh names. I'll just try and find a way into that ruin. Oh, goodie.” Ransai explained to himself. Briefly combing his hair back with his fingers, Ransai trekked over to the buildings to assess the situation.

A lone tree bordering the city from the town seemed to be an appetizing place to take a look at the town unnoticed for Ransai, so he decided to hide behind that and peek out around it. He did just that upon pressing himself against the tree. For all he could see, things were deserted and quiet. Perfectly normal for what looked like two in the morning. The outside lights hanging on the buildings were lit, casting a flood of yellow on the grass, with scattered shadows .

“Yep. Quiet. Good enough.” Ransai observed. He wandered out into the trail of the city to look around. The first thing he needed to do was actually find the ruins he was looking for. Unfortunately, all the buildings looked too normal and plain to house any ruins. “Meh. Why couldn't anyone make this easy and put something like Stonehenge around the ruin? Sure, it would take some effort, but it would still make things easier for me.” Ransai commented.

“Hey! It's well past the curfew! And well before it!” A voice called out.

Ransai immediately began looking for the source of the voice and saw a black clothed man approach him. This didn't look like anyone connected to any sort of authoritative office. Quite the contrary, he looked like the authorities would want him cooling off in a cell, gazing out from inside the bars.

“Curfew-shmurfew.” Ransai answered.

“Listen. I don't know who or what you are, but I can't have you snooping around after dark. It wouldn't be the best thing for your health.” The person said coolly.

“And what makes you a doctor?” Ransai asked.

“I never said I was one. But you snooping around during the dark hours makes you liable to get hurt. Now amscray.” The person told him, rather crudely.

Ransai's defiance peaked. “And if I say no?” He asked. Ransai wasn't one to readily bow to another's whims. Especially when the the person enforcing that whim made him look just plain rude.

The person took out a pokeball. “Then it just looks like I'll have to show you exactly what I mean, will I?”

Ransai took out his own pokeball. “Oh, I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. You're human. I'm Mobian. There's an evolution gap between us, and you'll see why Darwin said 'Survival of the Fittest.'” He said, quite rudely. It didn't matter now. It was time to take the first name for his mission.

Ransai threw out his pokeball to call out his pokemon. “Let's get this party started! Go, Houndour!” He called out. The ball opened, and Houndour sprang forth, spewing some embers into the grass. They quickly went out when they hit the dewy grass. The person tossed out his own pokeball. “Go Seel!” he called out. The ball opened and flashed, revealing a smaller icy-blue pokemon. “Please. You don't know what you're up against..” Ransai told the peon He began to put a hand in his vest to take out a destiny stone. The peon only smirked. “You haven't seen the product of our research, have you?” he asked.

The peon reached into a shirt pocket and withdrew what looked like a thick pen, but one that had no head, and no button to expel a head to the pen. “Giovanni sent us here to check up on past research. Our scientists developed on it over time. You'll see what I mean.” He said. The peon held up the device and pressed a button, pointing it at Seel. Ransai could make out a rather disruptive noise, though small. His ears twitched. But the noise had a greater effect on the Seel. It looked as if it were going mad, and floundered writhed about. It began to glow, then expand. “It's...evolving?” Ransai asked, rather dumbstruck. The only thing he knew that could evolve pokemon at an instant was a Destiny stone.

The Seel stopped glowing, and revealed its new form as a Dewgong. And it did not look happy. “What did you do to that Seel?!” Ransai demanded. “You see the glory of all of the old Rocket's research enhanced by our own? This is the way to the bright age! This will secure the rise of Team Blastoff in the world!” The peon shouted. Ransai shook his head. “You unspeakable monster. Didn't you see how that pokemon was thrashing about? Didn't you see its pain? I hold a special hate for demons like you.” He said, taking out the rainbow colored destiny stone. “This is the real way to evolve a pokemon if you can't wait. This stone encourages evolution! It doesn't force it! Houndour, time for you to see your own destiny.” He said placing the stone on the dark dog pokemon. Houndour began to glow. Its tail gained a point that seemed like that of a devil's. It also gained horns. The glowing stopped, revealing itself to be a Houndoom.

“So what? That trick is the same that I did. You're no different than we are.” The peon said. Ransai glared at him. “How dare you? You associate me with humans like you? The only humans in this world that I consider higher than others are those on my team. It seems all the rest of you are shallow.” he answered. His fists were clenched. He was quite angry. “You evolved your pokemon through abnormal means, and you claim to be benevolent?” the peon asked. “My way caused no pain!” Ransai shouted. The peon sneered. “We'll just see who's better in a battle, then. Get ready, Dewgong!”

“You can take him, Houndoom.” Ransai encouraged.

“Okay, Houndoom! Start this out with Crunch!” Ransai called out. “Dewgong, Ice Beam!” The peon answered. Houndoom moved faster and sped towards the sea mammal pokemon. Houndoom latched on tight with its sharp teeth. Dewgong felt the sharp teeth sinking into its blubbery skin and howled in pain. Houndoom leaped back, glaring at Dewgong. Dewgong managed to compose itself enough to fire off an icy beam from its horn at Houndoom. The beam struck, but didn't do too much damage.

“Dewgong, Surf attack!” The peon shouted. “Okay! Counter-measure, Houndoom! Sunny Day!” Ransai called. Houndoom howled out into the early morning sky, and quite amazingly, the Sun sprang right into the sky. “Whoa. Didn't expect that... Nice...” Ransai said in amazement. He stared at the Sun as it slowly sank back to its prior place. Dewgong then called forth a surge of water from nowhere to strike Houndoom. The heat of the sun weakened the water, but not enough to totally dissipate it. The water washed over Houndoom with reduced pressure, doing some damage.

Ransai grinned. “This looks good. Houndoom, Solarbeam!” he called out. “Oh, Geeze... Surf again!” The peon called out, rather panicked. Houndoom raised his head and opened its mouth wide, gathering solar energy. It then fired the beam at Dewgong, hitting it right in the face. The sea pokemon flew back from the force and skidded on the ground, landing next to the peon. “Heh. You gotta love it.” Ransai said with a smirk. The peon shook his head as he recalled his fallen Dewgong.

“This isn't looking good for me at all. Grovyle, come out!” the peon said as the threw out the pokeball. The ball lit up the area revealing a medium sized pokemon, decorated with leaves. It looked quite agile. “No choice! Leaf blade!” The peon ordered. “Houndoom, let'er rip! Flamethrower!” Ransai answered. Surprisingly, Grovyle struck first, speeding right past Houndoom with its blade like leaf appendages extended. They left a cut mark on Houndoom, but it seemed to only be superficial. Houndoom shook off the pain, then fired off a stream of flames at the Grovyle, powered by the Sunny Day. The Flames engulfed the grass pokemon, hurting it badly. The flames dissipated, leaving Grovyle burnt and panting.

“Dangit. Not good at all. Well, if you're going out, you might as go out with style! Double edge, Grovyle!” the peon shouted. “Houndoom, answer with Flamethrower again!” Ransai called out again. The Grovyle charged toward Houndoom, but Houndoom wizened up from the last time and shot a flamethrower at Grovyle before it could connect. Grovyle misstepped in the flames and fell over, fainted. “Good job, Houndoom. That was close.” Ransai stated. The peon recalled Grovyle.

“Well, this will cut your mutt down to size.” The peon said, drawing another pokeball from his pocket. He tossed the pokeball out and with a flash, a larger, long-legged chicken like pokemon appeared. “Okay, Combusken! Double kick!” The peon shouted forcibly. “Aw, Geeze. Disadvantage Flamethrower, Houndoom!” Ransai called out, at a loss of what else to do. The Combusken started running for Houndoom. On reflex, Houndoom shot a flamethrower at Combusken. But the flames only singed Combusken minimally as it charged right through the flames. The Combusken doled out two kicks on Houndoom, sending it flying back. It skidded on the ground, stopping near Ransai. “You did good, Houndoom. Take a rest.” he said, recalling the dog-tired dog pokemon. With that, the sun finally sank beneath the horizon, leaving the battle in darkness.

“How's that for ya?!” The peon asked, tauntingly. Ransai took a pokeball from his belt. “You do realize that you only just managed to get the best of my Houndoom now, right? It took out two of your pokemon. I can make any move I want. And as for moves, I've got just the thing to take down that Combusken.” Ransai said with a grin. He tossed out the pokeball, and it flashed. It seemed brighter than usual, but that was only the effect of the darkness newly draped over the area. A large blue pokemon sprung from the ball and raised up its arms excitedly. “Swampert!” It cried cheerily.

“Okay, Swampert. You see that bad man over there? Use surf on his Combusken, okay?” Ransai asked. Swampert looked back at Ransai and nodded. “Dratted. Go for a Double kick!” The peon commanded. Swampert raised up its arms in an attempt to call forth water to flood over the opponent. Swampert was answered with a roaring torrent flooding towards Combusken. Combusken was washed into a nearby building and fell to the ground. It managed to get back onto its feet, then it bounded towards Swampert rapidly. It doled out two kicks upon Swampert, and flipped back on the second kick. Swampert took good damage from the double kicks.

“You're doing good Swampert. But stand down. I've got something planned.” Ransai said with a chuckle. Swampert stared at Ransai a bit confused as he strapped on a snag machine. “You know, I've never used this before. This will be my first time. And that Combusken's mine.” Ransai said, inserting an ultra ball into the machine. The peon stared, helplessly. “You...you're not going to do that, are you?” The peon asked. Ransai nodded. “Yep. And there's nothing you can do about it. Now! Snag Ball go!” He shouted as he shot the ball at Combusken through the machine. The ball flew through the air quickly and hit Combusken, absorbing it in. The ball fell to the ground, then began wiggling about. Ransai didn't know what to expect; this was his first time catching or snagging a pokemon. After wiggling several times, the ball settled down, then let out a ding!It disappeared into the Snagem pokemon system shortly after.

The peon gaped. “My Pokemon! You're worse than us! You're stealing pokemon from other trainers!” He shouted accusingly. Ransai chuckled, then waved his hand around, amusingly at the peon. “Yes, but I reserve that for scum like you. You see, I'm entitled to secure any pokemon from any evil team that I see fit, should I want it. Besides, your former Combusken will do well under me.” He explained lightly. “Now, Swampert, Tackle him. I need to extract information from him.” Ransai said casually. The peon shook his head, then took off running. However, Swampert outran him, then pinned him to the ground.

“Humans. Oh, well. Now you're going to become useful to me, or else I'll have Swampert here dunk you.” Ransai continued, walking toward the peon and Swampert. The peon grunted. “I've already made things easier for you. Thief.” The peon spat. Ransai waved his hands in the air mockingly. “Oh, help me, help me! I'm being verbally abused by scum!” He said. He let his arms hang down at his side and stared down at the peon with a grin. “Whatever shall I do?” He asked, sarcastically. The peon sighed. “I can't believe this...” he mumbled. “Believe it. Now tell me. Where are these ruins that I've heard about? They clearly have some sort of significance to Blastoff. It is how you attained your research after all.”

The peon shook his head. “I ain't saying anything. You could endanger our plans.” he said, stubbornly. Ransai chuckled. “You finally admitted it. I am better than you bunch.” He said. He got quiet again. “Now seriously. Tell me where this place is, or I'll have to get violent. And I hate getting violent.” Ransai said. “Make me.” Said the peon. Ransai sighed. “Swampert, you want to use him as a trampoline?” he asked. Swampert nodded at Ransai with a smile. “Swam!” Ransai smirked. “The be my guest!” He said, laughing. “No!” The peon screamed. Swampert began hopping up and down on the peon, quite happily. The peon on the other hand grunted and groaned with every landing.

“Now, would you mind telling me where these ruins are?” Ransai asked, growing a bit impatient. The peon groaned. “Okay...okay... just don't have your pokemon bounce on me again...” The peon said, taking a breath. Ransai nodded. “Good enough. Now talk.” he said. “The base begins under a house. There's a small house with one room around here, and it's the only house unlocked at this hour. Now get your Swampert off me.” the peon said with a gasp. “Okay. I got what I wanted. You can take a rest now, Swampert.” Ransai said, returning his pokemon. The peon sighed out of relief and passed out.

“Well, that takes care of that one. Oh, and before I forget...” Ransai said, approaching the peon. He bent down, and took the device that evolved his pokemon from him. “I can't let these get out of hand.” He said, dropping the device to the ground. He then stomped on it, then ground it with his foot, listening to the grinding noise of the breaking parts under his feet. “Well, at least it's fragile.” Ransai commented. He took a deep breath, then wandered off to find the house that the peon had spoke of.

Ransai rubbed his eyes, and yawned. The lack of sleep was annoying him, but he didn't really care. He began walking to the smaller houses in the town, jiggling the doorknobs to see if they would open. “Geeze. I feel like a thug right now. Well, no one has to know.” He said to himself. He liked to consider himself a person of high morals, so this annoyed him that he had to walk up to random houses in the dark to try to get into one.

After several houses, a door opened after Ransai turned the knob. “Finally. Now let's take a look.” he said, eagerly. He proceeded into the house and looked around. The house looked dilapidated on the inside, with chairs overturned, the wallpaper peeling off, the grubby windows, and so on and so forth. “Dang...Not even I could live in this pig-sty.” He commented. He was admittedly a messy person, leaving some things on the ground, but not to this degree. “Well, time to look for a way under here...” He said, attempting to walk through the messy house.

A creak could be heard on one of the boards in the floor he was treading over, and Ransai stopped to look around. “Hmm... am I alone here, or is there someone else here?” he asked. The floorboard creaked a long mournful creak again. “...This place is desperate for remodeling.” He stated.

The floor creaked once more, then fell through, dropping Ransai down to the floor below. “Whoa!” He shouted, landing on his chest in a dimly lit room. Dust had settled on him and he groaned. “God...that wasn't very expected. And I'm not even that heavy compared to the humans here...” he said, getting back up. He felt a twinge of pain in his knees, but it felt like nothing more than a soon to develop bruise under his fur.

“Houses in disrepair, numskull third-rate peons, what next?” Ransai asked himself.

“Hey, did you hear that?” Said a voice outside the door to the room. “Yeah. Someone took the phrase, 'Fall in' literally, it seems.” Answered another voice. “Well, we're not supposed to move too much. I'll go check whatever fell in, and you two go tell the Exec. And take separate paths, please. I'm tired of seeing holes in this place. But we're not supposed to repair it. This is only a temporary base, anyhow.” said a third voice. The other voices said “Right.” in unison and two sets of footsteps walked off in different directions.

“Nice...” Ransai said, sarcastically under his breath. He didn't have many options. Try and hide, and risk falling through another floor or being heard, or just let himself be found by whoever was outside and perhaps have to battle again. He favored none of the above, but time didn't seem to favor him, either. The door opened, and a person in a similar uniform as the last person he trounced walked in.

The peon stared at Ransai and scratched his head, unsure of what he was looking at. “You supposed to be a pokemon or something?” he asked. Ransai raised his hand with his index finger extended, about to speak, but shook his head, putting his hand down. “Forget it... these humans are beyond help...” he said, exasperatedly. The peon glared at him. “You impudent little punk!” he spat.

Ransai shrugged. “What's that make you?” he asked, chuckling a bit. He loved messing with humans.

“Gah! Gah! I need to shut this kid up... he's seen enough already, and he's just being a pest.” the peon said to himself, taking out a pokeball. “Ugh. Another battle?” he asked, taking out a pokeball. “Well, have at it.” He said, tossing out the pokeball. His Charizard appeared from the flash of the ball, and landed on the ground quite heavily. “Oh, Geeze... I don't want to fall through the floors again, Charizard!” Ransai said. Charizard snorted, not really caring. The peon tossed out his own pokeball, readying for a battle. A Swellow flew from the pokeball, and stared at Charizard with a sharp gaze. “Well, here we go...” Ransai said.

“Okay, Charizard! Spice things up with a Flamethrower!” Ransai called out for his first move. “Swellow, Aerial ace!” The peon commanded his pokemon. The Swellow's superior speed allowed it to strike quickly, and it slammed into Charizard, causing some damage to him. Charizard retaliated by firing off a flamethrower at the bird pokemon. It hit its mark, and seared Swellow quite badly.

“Okay. Now use Slash!” Ransai said, knowing that Swellow aren't very sturdy pokemon. The peon shook his head. “Crap. Crap people messing in our business. No matter. Swellow, Aerial ace again!” the peon called out. Again, Swellow flew into Charizard at high speed, and again, it resisted too much damage, receiving only some. Charizard then rushed forward and slashed at Swellow quite harshly. Swellow became exhausted, then fell to the ground, KO'd. The peon grumbled. “The worst luck. Ugh.” He said, recalling his pokemon.

“Until now.” The peon said with a chuckle. He then tossed out another pokeball, revealing a large blue pokemon with a swirl on its stomach. “Now we're playing with power! Strength attack, Poliwrath!” Ransai shook his head, shrugging. “Oh, la-dee-da. Charizard, Aerial ace again!” Ransai called out. Charizard made the first move this time. He flew forward quickly, and struck harshly, nailing Poliwrath hard. But Poliwrath stayed standing, and charged at Charizard, hitting it hard in the chest, causing great damage.

“Ohh... ouch...Charizard, keep it going! Aerial ace!” Ransai called out. “Answer it with another Strength!” The peon shouted. Charizard again flew at a high speed and stuck Poliwrath mercilessly on its way by. And again, Poliwrath was able to keep standing. He rushed toward Charizard once more, and struck it in the chest. This time, it was too much for Charizard to take, and it fell over in pain and fatigued, KO'd. “Dang...You did good, Charizard. You need to rest.” Ransai said, returning his fallen pokemon. 'Two of my pokemon out...I'm going to have to play it smart...Breloom!' He thought, drawing another pokeball from his vest as he put away Charizard's pokeball.

“Let's see how you like this! Breloom, Go!” He called out, tossing out the pokeball. In a bright flash that illuminated the room, a green kangaroo-like pokemon with what looked like a mushroom on its head leaped from the light. “Okay, Breloom! Start this off with a Giga Drain!” Ransai called out. “Dang it! Strength again!” The peon answered. Breloom was the one to make the first strike, and it did so by flashing green, casting a green hue on the room. It began to draw energy from Poliwrath, weakening it rapidly until it fell to the ground, KO'd from lack of energy. The peon shook his head furiously and returned his pokemon.

“I can't lose to someone like you!” The peon said, grabbing another pokeball. “Go, Graveler!” he shouted, tossing out another pokeball. The ball erupted in light, and expelled the rocky pokemon into battle. Ransai shook his head. “What is it with you guys and bad strategies?” Ransai asked with a sigh. The peon grinned, taking out a small pen shaped device like the last peon had. “You haven't seen this yet, have you?” he asked, smugly. Ransai stared. “Don't you dare! I saw what that thing does to pokemon! I don't know what it does exactly, but I've seen enough to deem that an evil device!” Ransai shouted. The peon snickered. “So you've seen this already. That only furthers our need to dispose of you.” He said. He pointed it at the Graveler, then pressed a button. Once more, Ransai's ears twitched. But Graveler looked as if a sudden jolt of extreme pain and began shaking violently. It began to glow and expand until it took the form of it's evolution, Golem. Just like Dewgong before it, Golem looked vicious.

“Unspeakable demon. Putting a pokemon through pain like that... and you leave me no choice. I'm sorry, Golem, but Breloom, Giga Drain!” Ransai said, angered at the atrocity. “Golem, Defense curl!” The peon ordered. Breloom began to glow a green glow again, and began to sap energy from Golem. It did massive damage, but it somehow managed to survive the attack. Golem only drew its body into its hard rock shell to increase its defense.

“Breloom, let's make this painless! Swords dance!” Ransai called to his pokemon. “Now, Golem! Explosion!” The peon shouted maniacally. Ransai gulped as his Breloom began to dance a tribal dance to raise its power. Not that it would matter in a bit. The peon took this chance to flee from the room to leave Ransai with Golem to be blasted. The said Golem began to shake, then glow. Ransai looked around, panicked, trying to find an escape route. Before he could find any means of escape, the Golem exploded with great force, causing a blast engulfing the entire room, catching Ransai and Breloom in the blast Zone. Breloom was severely damaged after slamming into a wall and falling to the ground, but managed to miraculously survive. Ransai, on the other hand, was in pain after he smashed into a wall from the force of the blast. He hit his head on the wall, and fell to the ground, just barely clinging to consciousness.

Ransai slowly reached for a pokeball to return Breloom. “Ugh... agh...” He grunted. He was in pain. Pain that he hasn't had to feel in a long time. His Breloom wandered slowly over to Ransai as he finally plucked the pokeball from his vest. “Bre...loom.. Return...” he gasped as he recalled his pokemon. After finishing that, Ransai attempted to try and get up. But the pain was too much for him, and he could feel unconsciousness flooding over him. His arm dropped to the floor after much effort and Ransai passed out. The peon that Ransai was battling before walked back into the room, satisfied with himself. “Not so high and mighty once you get knocked out, are you?” He asked tauntingly to the unconscious Ransai.

The peon approached Ransai, then picked him up, taking him out of the room.

“AAH!”

He didn't know why he had screamed but he felt an intense stinging pain on his side. He had been whipped, but with what? He weakly raised his head up, and found that he was hanging by his wrists from cuffs on the walls. He looked around, wincing from the pain, and saw two men and a leafed pokemon with a small bud growing from its back. The Ivysaur had its vines out, and had just whipped Ransai. “Ugh...” Ransai grunted.

One of the peons laughed. “So you're up! Payback hurts, does it, Boy?!” He asked, on the verge of cackling. Ransai examined the person for a bit before letting his head hang down again. That peon was the same one that Ransai had Swampert interrogate. “Ivysaur, again!” The peon ordered. “Saur!” the pokemon said, obediently. It then flung its vine whips around, and struck Ransai once more. “AGH!” He shouted, in pain. The whipping stung quite poignantly, and his body was sore from the blast he was caught up in. To make things worse, the cuffs he was hanging from by his wrists only made the pain worse. He considered himself lucky he was only about 58 pounds, though.

“agh... What do you want from me?” Ransai asked, weakly. The peon chuckled. “I want many things. Payback. Satisfaction. The reason why the heck you're snooping around here.” The peon listed. “So who are you working for, and for what reason are you here?” The peon asked. “Don't make me get violent. I hate being violent.” The peon added, mockingly.

“I...I was doing this on my own accord. I heard you Blastoff people were attempting to find some research that was abandoned several years ago. I also heard that you were on the way to this place to find the research and put it to use. So... I came to rout you humans... Simple as that...” Ransai answered, panting though his half lie. He wasn't going to divulge that he was a Snagem to people like this.

“Ivysaur, again.” The peon said. Again, Ivysaur whipped at Ransai on his other side this time, causing him even more pain. He didn't scream this time, but didn't know how much longer he could stand the pain. “Well, since you seem capable of hurting people to get what you need, you should be able to take it.” The peon said, bluntly. Ransai just hung his head down, tired, and in pain he thought he wouldn't have to deal with again.

A door opened on the other side of the room, and a woman walked in. She had short Blond hair and a deep pink suit. But she didn't look like someone to take lightly. “That's enough. I think you've had enough revenge for one day.” She said. It seemed she had authority over the two, because one recalled the Ivysaur, and the peon that was mocking him saluted with a “Ma'am.” He walked over to a chair nearby and sat down. “Well, boy, I don't know what to tell you. You made the decision to try and 'rout' us and you ended up here. Oh, and we went ahead and liberated you of your pokemon. As well as your belongings. But don't worry, we have a room for you that seems suitable for pesky foxes like you. Cain, take him to his room.” The woman said.

Great, Ransai thought, rather sardonic of the situation. He was being held captive, and his pokemon have been taken from him. Not to mention all the pain he was in. This, he felt, was an all time low for him. Cain, the thug that had just been ordering his whippings from the Ivysaur, stood up and walked over to Ransai. He freed him from the cuffs, then tossed him over his shoulder. Ransai wanted to struggle, cause pain to the peon, but simply felt too weak to attempt any form of resistance. He just watched the floor go by as the peon took him to wherever he was going to be held.

The peon kicked open a door, then tossed Ransai carelessly onto a woven straw rug in the middle of the room. He grunted out of pain again upon hitting the ground, but just laid there. The peon left the room, closing the door behind him. A clicking was heard, indicating the door was locked.

For the first time since one of his more traumatic experiences back home, Ransai felt like crying. He was in a rut. No pokemon, no strength, no items. He sighed. The only thing he had was pain, and his clothes. He closed his eyes after staring at one corner of the room for a while, and fell into an uneasy sleep.

After what felt like a few minutes of pure quiet and darkness, Ransai woke up. The twinging pain of the whipping was gone, but his body was still sore, especially his wrists. But he felt able enough to stand up. He slowly got to his hands and knees, then onto his feet. Light was pouring in from a barred window. “Dang. It's been that long? I bet they're worried about me. Agh... Still hurting...” He said, flinching a bit from the pain. He glanced around at the drab cell. “Well, how am I going to get myself out of this mess?” he asked himself, walking around the room. “This place was supposed to be dilapidated and ruined.. I'll try to use that...” He said.

Ransai then began to knock on the walls as he walked by them, looking for a weak spot. “Come on...” he mumbled. He then kicked the wall out of frustration. “Dangit! I'm careless! These humans shouldn't have been able to get the best of me!” He raged. He then looked at the area he kicked. It dented. “When in doubt... hit it...” Ransai mumbled, exasperatedly. He then began to back up, getting ready to ram the wall in. He warmed up, then sprinted towards the wall. “Haa!” he shouted. He hit the wall, but it didn't give way. But it did seem to crack.

“Again...” Ransai said, walking the opposite way from the wall once again. He balanced back and forth on his feet. He reminded himself of a chinchilla a friend had, always running into walls. He shook his head, then charged the wall again. It cracked further, but no new entrance, yet. “Once more should do it.” he told himself, walking away once more. He charged the wall once more, but leaped into the air as he was about to collide. He hit the wall with his shoulder first, then breached through. He fell to the ground, dusty with some pebbles littering his fur.

“Meh. Not the best way to do things, but it worked.” Ransai said, standing up and brushing himself off. He looked around. There was no sign of anyone in the hall. Ransai had no intention of leaving though. He still had to retrieve his pokemon and items as well as get rid of the Blastoff presence in the area. He added onto the list the fact that he had to find and destroy the research and any machines that these people had of this atrocious project and shook his head. “I'm not done yet...” He said, proceeding down the hall.

Hearing a thud, Ransai turned around and saw a Seedot. But it was glowing a bright orange, ready to explode. “Aw, Geeze!” Ransai shouted, darting away. The pokemon exploded a safe distance behind him, and he sighed. “Good... what the crap?!” He shouted, looking ahead. Several different pokemon fell down around him, all small and ready to blow up. Voltorbs, Geodudes, Koffings and Pineco dropped to the ground, glowing a bright orange. “Ah! They call these guys Team Blastoff for a reason!” Ransai shouted, picking up the pace. The pokemon behind him began to explode, but none had caught Ransai yet. The explosions began to catch up with him. “I'm not letting this happen again!” He shouted. He saw an open door and directed all his will to get through the door before the exploding pokemon could harm him in any way. With a leap, Ransai made it through the door and on the ground. The explosions ceased, Ransai sighed. “Whew...”

He got back to his feet and looked around at the room, panting. What crazy and cruel people would rig a trap that would cause pokemon to explode just to divert intruders? Ransai sighed. “These people are monsters, plain and simple.” he stated. The room itself looked as stark and decrepit as the rest of the ruin. Something caught Ransai's eye as he gazed around the room; six pokeballs, and a pack of items on a table. “Are those mine?” He asked himself as he approached the balls.

“Not so fast!” Shouted a voice. Someone entered the room behind him. And as usual, it was another Rocket flunky to stand in his way. He took out a pokeball, about to toss it out. “You'd better leave those things alone, boy! You'll find yourself hurting!” He warned. It seemed he was panting as well. Ransai shrugged as he took a pokeball. “Bull-feathers. I'm more angry than I've been in a long time. I doubt even ten of you thugs could take me down!” Ransai shouted back, tossing out the pokeball. The ball exploded in light, and out from it came a brown pokemon with a skull on its head. It was juggling a rather thick club. “Marowak!” It said. Ransai grinned. “Yep. Those are mine.” He said. The peon tossed out his own pokeball, revealing a Murkrow. “Correction. Were your pokemon. Now I'm about to send you back to your cell. I don't know how you managed to escape, but I'll make sure it won't happen again!” The peon said. “Not a snowball's chance in Heck. Get ready, Marowak!”

~Battle 3- Peon~

“Okay, Marowak! Double Edge!” Ransai called out. “Murkrow, Faint attack!” The peon answered. Murkrow disappeared without a trace, then reappeared behind Marowak, striking its back. It did little damage, though. Marowak answered with a devastating tackle on Murkrow. It looked like the Murkrow would go down in one hit, but it was able to hang in there.

“Great! Again, Marowak!” Ransai shouted. “This kid knows what he's doing... Murkrow, Drill Peck!” The peon spat, rather miffed. Murkrow flew rapidly toward Marowak then began to spiral towards him. He struck and did some damage. Marowak glared at Murkrow, then rammed it, sending it flying into the wall. This time, Murkrow didn't get up. It was soon returned by its angry trainer.

“You're just asking to be taken down. Go, Zangoose!” The peon shouted, tossing out a pokeball. The ball flashed, then sent out the red and white furred pokemon. “Oh, Geeze. Reminds me of the time I almost had to fight a Zangoose myself.. Well, Marowak, Bonemerang!” He called out. He began to wonder whether or not he could take on a Zangoose or not. But that thought would have to be saved for another day. “Zangoose, Crush Claw!” The peon called out to Zangoose. Zangoose's lithe body allowed it to strike first and strike hard at that. The Zangoose slashed hard on Marowak, causing good damage to him. The slash left a mark, enraging Marowak. He then threw his large bone club at Zangoose, and struck it hard once, causing it to fly back. The bone had a return trip in mind as it struck Zangoose once again as it returned to Marowak's hand. Zangoose rose slowly, glaring at Marowak, breathing heavily. Marowak was also showing signs of fatigue.

“Hang in there, Marowak! Aerial Ace!” Ransai called out. This was going to be close. “All right now, Zangoose! Slash it!” The peon answered. Zangoose once again rushed toward Marowak to strike a heavy slash. Zangoose leaped, then slashed, but had just missed Marowak. Taking this chance, Marowak drew its bone club to its side, then rushed forward, using the momentum from the dash to swing the club so fast as to be almost unnoticeable by the human eye. Marowak stopped in its tracks a few paces away as Zangoose fell to the ground, KO'd. “Whoa... Marowak's been watching too much Rurouni Kenshin. Heh.” Ransai commented. The peon sighed. “This is it.” He said, returning the pokemon.

This comment made Ransai half expect his opponent to call out a pokemon that could use explosion, but he'd know not to waste time with it. “Now go, Mantine! Bubblebeam!” the peon called out, tossing out the ball. “Don't let yourself get caught off guard! Double Edge!” Ransai answered. The large manta pokemon appeared from the ball and flapped its great wings. As Mantine did this, Marowak charged towards it and hit it hard with its skulled helmet, dealing good damage, and knocking Mantine for a loop. But it regained its composure, then fired off a stream of bubbles, dealing a surprising amount of damage. Enough to knock out the Marowak. He fell to the ground, and Ransai returned him. “You did good. Now, time for some payback!” Ransai shouted, grabbing a pokeball.

“Okay, I know you're tired, but I've got faith in ya! Go, Breloom!” Ransai called out, tossing out a pokeball. The flash lit the room up, then dimmed as the fatigued Breloom appeared. “Breloom, use Spore!” Ransai called out before covering his mouth and nose. “Dang! Uhh... Bubblebeam it, Mantine!” the peon answered before covering his face as well. Breloom was the first to attack, and it released a sparkling powder dust towards Mantine. The dust lulled it into a sleep, and it couldn't very well attack in that state.

“We've got 'im now! Giga Drain!” Ransai called out. “Err..ahh... Wake up and Bubblebeam it, Mantine!” The peon sputtered, panicked. Breloom took this chance to begin draining Mantine's energy and replenish its own, dealing good damage to its host. Mantine didn't wake up.

“Great! Once more! Giga Drain!” Ransai shouted with a grin. “It's hopeless. Try an Aerial Ace...” The peon mumbled. Once again, Breloom leeched on Mantine's energy, and became perky again. The Mantine winced, then sighed, falling to the ground, fainted.

~End Battle 3 Peon~

“Gah! You weren't supposed to win!” The peon shouted, returning his last pokemon. Ransai grinned, returning his own. “And you aren't supposed to live, but I'll just have to live, won't I?” Ransai chuckled at his crude joke. The peon bagan to leave, but stopped when he heard Ransai. “Wait!” Ransai told him. The peon looked around, then Ransai let loose with a kick in the face of the peon. The peon grabbed at his face, wincing as blood streamed from his nose. “Ug...agh...Wha-what did you do that for?” The peon asked as he fell over to the ground. “Payback.” Ransai said, curtly as he shrugged out of the room.

Ransai grinned, getting a kick out of what he did to his opponent. “Well, I hope he's got insurance. He'll be needing it.” He commented, brushing the hair out of his eyes. He felt no remorse for what he did. But he felt justified as he was whipped by these people in the first place. And no one gets away with that, as far as Ransai was concerned. He then began to walk down the hall to continue his search for these machines and research. “Well, that takes care of three of these guys. I don't know how many are left, but as long as I'm careful, I might not have to deal with these humans anymore.” He said to himself.

Observing any nook and or cranny, Ransai found his way towards a pair of metal doors. He looked at the side of them and saw a console, most likely for these doors. “Tch. Dusty.” Ransai said, brushing the dead skin particles and dust mites off the buttons and screen. He shook his head. Why was he thinking about the compilation of dust now? Dead skin cells and insects barely a micrometer in length. A macabre thought, but there was nothing he could do about it. Humans couldn't shed. At least when he shedded, he could leave it all on the ground and sweep it up.

“Agh!” Ransai finally said, shaking his head, irritated at himself. “I can't go thinking about things like these now. Now what's up with this console?” he asked himself impatiently, looking at his reflection in the screen. “Heh. I can't get over how cool these teal eyes make me look with my gray fur.” he said with a chuckle, rather amused. “Ah, there I go again...” Ransai mumbled upon knocking on his head. “Who are you, and why are you invading my head?” He asked to no one, but the 'little green man' inside his head that he knew didn't exist. “Oh, well. This console's making my butt tired with its boring look.” He complained. He turned it on to see if it would still work. And in accordance with Murphey's Law, it refused to work

Ransai sighed. “Of course. Everything's in poor repair here.” he said, approaching the doors. He knocked on them twice. “Open, Sesame.” he said blandly as the knocking echoed off the door. It creaked, then fell over, revealing the room to Ransai.. “Okay, then. 'Open Sesame' does work...” He mumbled. “Psh. Who am I kidding? I am lucky this place is a ruin.” he said. He stared at what was inside. On the floor and desks were blueprints and some machine parts, while there were cases stacked neatly in the corners. He shook his head, fearing that Team Blastoff had quite a head start. He approached one of the stacks, then swiftly pulling one of the boxes out, letting the stack fall one notch, just as neat as it was before.

He opened the box, and his guess was reaffirmed. A small, silver, pen like device was stored inside. He took it out, then stared at it, shaking his head. He threw it to the ground, stomping it and grinding it under his feet. “Pigs.” He commented in disgust. He took out a pokeball and released the pokemon inside: a tired out, fainted Charizard. Ransai took a bottle out of his vest, then sprayed the unconscious pokemon with it. “Does a revive actually...” he wondered aloud to himself. His wondering was put to rest as his pokemon began to stir. “Oh, good morning, sleepyhead.” he greeted, tossing the empty bottle over his shoulder.

“An intruder! Rude fellow, go away!” ordered a voice, startling Ransai. He looked back, and saw a woman walking in. She didn't look like the one from earlier, but she still looked rather angry. “What's something like you doing here? Who are you?” She asked, resting her hands on her hips. Ransai chucked, then brushed his hands through his hair to look as vein as possible. “I am the Alpha, I am the Omega. I am the beginning of your suffering and the end of your life. ” he said. He couldn't keep a straight face anymore. He burst out laughing. “Hah! I always wanted to say that!” He said, vibrantly.

The woman frowned, clearly offended, then took out a pokeball. “You are rude! I'll make you pay for that!” she said, taking out a pokeball. Ransai returned Charizard, not wanting to risk it as he took out another pokeball. “So you want to battle. Well, Medicham, put the pedal to the metal, and keep your ten-ten on your side!” He called out, tossing out that pokeball. Medicham appeared, performing a yoga routine, then looked up. The peon tossed out her own pokeball, revealing a Pikachu. “Go, Pikachu!” She called out. The small rodent pokemon appeared from the ball and glanced around before saying, “Chuu..”

Ransai slowly shook his head. “Well, so much for expecting a challenge..”

“Medicham, start this off with a brick break!” Ransai called out. “Thunderbolt that pokemon, Pikachu!” the peon called out, pointing at Medicham. Pikachu immediately bagan to spark, then shot a jolt of lighting at Medicham, doing good damage, but it was able to stand. It then leaped right in front of the yellow mouse, then doled out a mighty kick on it, and it flew back towards the wall. It looked like it was going down in one hit, but it got up after much effort.

“Again, Medicham!” Ransai told his pokemon. “Ahh! Thunderbolt it again!” the peon shouted. Pikachu fired off another electric attack at Medicham, jolting it once more. But it didn't cause too much damage. In retaliation, Medicham leaped in front of Pikachu again, then kicked it hard into the wall. It bounced off, then landed on the ground, fainted. “Ooh! Return, Pikachu!” She yelled, flustered.

“Go, Delcatty!” She then called out, tossing out the pokeball. The ball flashed, and the cat pokemon appeared, waving its tail around. Ransai scratched his head. “Err... you do realize you're at a disadvantage? Whatever. Brick Break, Medicham!” he said. “Double edge!” She called to the Delcatty, who was licking its paws at the time. It then dashed out, then nailed Medicham hard in the stomach, dealing good damage, while knocking itself for a loop as well. Medicham took the hit, then doled out a Brick Break on the pokemon, driving it into the floor, nearly fainted.

“Change of pace! Return, Medicham!” Ransai called, returning his pokemon. He then tossed out another pokeball, revealing Swampert. “Swam!” It called out happily upon reappearing. “Double Edge again, Delcatty!” Delcatty then charged toward Swampert, causing some damage to it, while doing even more damage to itself, knocking itself out. The peon shook her head, then returned her pokemon. “Don't you dare laugh at me!” She demanded as she tossed out another pokeball. “Go, Clefary!” the peon called out, tossing out the pokeball. The Small, pink pokemon appeared, then looked around. “Cle?”

Ransai sighed, shrugging. “A waste of time. Swampert, Ice beam!” He called out. “Metronome, Clefairy!” The peon called out. Swampert made the first move, shooting an icy beam at the Clefairy, nailing it and doing good damage. The Clefairy managed to keep standing after the hit, then began waving its arms like a metronome. Ransai followed the hands with his eyes, back and forth until it stopped, then fired off several needles at Swampert. He guarded his face with his arms, and the needles did little damage.

“Looked like a pin missile. You should be okay, Swampert. Now finish it with a Body Slam!” Ransai called out. He knew it wouldn't be too much longer, now.. “Noo! Clefairy, use Doubleslap!” the peon called out, hopelessly. Swampert nodded, then charge tackled Clefairy hard to the ground knocking out immediately. Ransai showed the thumbs-up signal to Swampert and winked. “Good job.” He said.

The peon girl shook her head in horror as she returned her pokemon. “You're a monster! How could you hurt pokemon like that?!” She demanded of Ransai. He just shook his head. “You were the one that wouldn't give up. You knew you had the disadvantage, yet you still put your pokemon through that beating. You're the one at fault.” he stated, returning his Swampert. The peon shook her head again before running off. Ransai sighed. “Why do they match me with amateurs? Whatever. Charizard, I'm going to need ya here!” he called out, tossing out the pokeball.

The signature light of the pokeball occurred, revealing the Charizard. “Charizard, we've got to do something about all these machines here. They're evil, and they need to disposed of. So, Charizard, when I give the signal, I want you to pour out the hottest Flamethrower you've got, okay?” he asked. Charizard nodded, affirming the plan. Ransai grinned, then walked over to one of the boxes. He took one, then put it in his pack. It was a little too big to fit in his vest, anyhow. “I'll take one so Blizz can take a gander at it. I think he should take a look at what some of these teams are planning...”

Before he could talk anymore to himself, a red light flooded the area, accompanied by a siren. He looked around, then cursed under his breath. “Charizard, we've got no time, now!” he shouted over the siren, running towards the exit. “Now Flamethrower this place to kingdom come!” He shouted. On cue, the large winged dragon esque pokemon set the room ablaze with a stream of flames. Charizard then turned to Ransai after the deed was done. “Good! Now...” He said, approaching the pokemon and climbing on. “We'll take the fast way out, Charizard! And while you're flying us out, I want you to set fire to as many rooms as possible on the way by! Now, Go! Go! Go!” He urged his pokemon. Charizard nodded, then took off flying down the halls, blasting some of the passing rooms with Flamethrowers.

Ransai could see the affect of Charizard's rampage behind him as the corridor began to collapse from the flames. “Now let's get the heck outta Dodge, Charizard!” He urged. He almost feared that Charizard would take a wrong turn, forgetting that his passenger wasn't exactly fire resistant. But fortunately for Ransai , Charizard just flew up a flight of stairs, setting a few more fires on its way, before flying through the ceiling. Ransai coughed as he breathed in some of the smoke. “Hurry, Charizard, I'm not a fan of carbon monoxide!” he coughed.

Finally, Charizard burst through the wall of an all too familiar room where he literally fell into this whole mess in the first place. He watched as the flames raced behind Charizard and himself as his pokemon landed just outside the house. He watched as the flames began to consume the house, then sighed. “Hope no one was caught up in that. I don't care much for these humans, but I'm not going to just kill them because of it...” he said, looking up at the evening sky.

“Do not worry. Everyone got out. I made sure of that. But I'll also make sure that these flames won't go hungry.” said a female voice from behind Ransai. He quickly hopped off Charizard, then saw the woman that had interrupted his whippings earlier. The glare that she shot at Ransai had a venomous quality of their own. Ransai just chuckled. “Aww, just because things don't go your way doesn't mean you have to Seppoku.” He said in a mock comforting tone, returning his Charizard.

“I think you fail to see the seriousness of the situation, fox. You destroyed our research and our machines that we were working to develop. Have you ever heard of the man price? The righting of a wrong with a life. And I'm afraid that you've just dug your own grave.” She said, taking out a few pokeballs. It looked like she was serious about this. Ransai followed suit, taking out two pokeballs of his own. “”Well, I guess I'm just going to have to keep from dying, am I?” he said with a grin. He had no intention of going easy on her.

“Go, Breloom and Swampert!” Ransai shouted, tossing out the pokeballs simultaneously. The two pokemon appeared next to each other, looked at each other, then waited for the opposition. “So it's like that? Metagross and Loudred, Go!” the executive called out, tossing out her pokeballs as well. A large, blue UFO like pokemon appeared next to a purple pokemon with large ears. “Well, there's our enemies, guys. Swampert, Mud Shot on Metagross! Breloom, use Spore on Metagross!” He called out. He wasn't leaving any error in his strategy here. Too much was at risk. And his body began to get sore again. He panted. “Metagross, Psychic attack on Breloom! Loudred, Hyper Voice!” She answered. Breloom started the battle by spraying Metagross with a dusty spore, causing it to go out cold. Swampert followed up by spraying a high pressure stream of Mud at Metagross, causing great damage. Loudred then took a deep breath, then yelled for all it was, causing some damage to Swampert and Breloom. The yell caused Ransai to clasp his hands to his ears and wince. “Yeesh!”

“This isn't looking too bad, guys! Swampert, Earthquake! Breloom, use Giga Drain on Loudred!” Ransai called out. He knew the earthquake would strike all the pokemon including Breloom. But that's why he ordered for a Giga Drain. “Blast... Metagross, if you get up, use Psychic on Breloom! Loudred, use Stomp on Swampert!” The executive answered. Breloom took his turn to begin sapping Loudred's energy through the ground, recovering its past wounds while dealing great damage to Loudred itself. After Breloom was done, Swampert leaped into the air, then pounded its arms on the ground, causing the earth to shake violently under the feet of all the pokemon. Metagross and Loudred were knocked out by the force of the shock while Breloom received a lot of damage, but still survived. “Double KO. I like that...” Ransai mumbled. “Ugh.” The woman grunted, returning her pokemon.

“You don't seem too bad in a battle. Who are you?” The executive inquired of Ransai. Ransai snickered. “I'd ask the same about you. But you're just not worth the brain power to remember a name. But I'll play nice and tell you my name. Ransai Caradine.” He said. The woman grinned. “Belladonna Maxime. You know, you would fit well with us. You somehow managed to foil our plot by yourself. You're admittedly good with a pokeball. And your angry nature could make you a feared leader.” She commented. Ransai took offense to Belladonna calling him angry, but grinned nonetheless. “I'm not angry. I just hate all you equally. Anyone who would put a pokemon through what you put them through what you put them through needs a lobotomy.” He stated, not caring if he sounded crude. “And there's no way I'd join you, anyhow. I'm a Snagem, and I'm not going to forsake my team!” He shouted. Belladonna chuckled. “Cute. But that won't get you anywhere in life. Now, let's continue this skirmish! Hitmontop and Venusaur, Go!” She called out, tossing out two more pokeballs.

A large, leafy pokemon took to the field along with a pokemon that was balanced on its pin head like a top. “Venusaur, Razor leaf on Swampert! Hitmontop, Triple Kick on Breloom!” she commanded. “Swampert, Ice Beam that Hitmontop! Breloom, Giga Drain on Hitmontop!” He called out. Again, Breloom was the first to strike, draining away at Hitmontop's health to heal its wounds from the earthquake. Swampert fired off a freezing beam at Venusaur, and connected, dealing heavy damage to it. Though it was shivering, it was able to send several razor sharp leaf blades at Swampert, causing massive damage, and Knocking it out. Hitmontop then span its way towards Breloom kicking at it repeatedly like a top. It sent Breloom flying back a bit, receiving some damage, but was able to survive.

“This is gonna get close...” Ransai said, returning Swampert. “Go, Charizard! Use Flamethrower on Venusaur! Breloom, You've got it in ya! Giga Drain on Hitmontop again!” He called out, tossing out another pokeball. Charizard appeared in a burst of light, then immediately fired off a flamethrower at Venusaur, putting it down instantly. Before the Hitmontop could act, Breloom
began to sap the energy of Hitmontop, dealing more damage, and ultimately causing it to faint. Ransai chuckled. “This is looking good...” He said. Belladonna returned her pokemon, then tossed out a single pokeball. It exploded in light, revealing a large, red pokemon. It striked Ransai as strange to see a red Gyarados, but he knew it would be going down nonetheless.

“There's a horse of a different color... Well, Charizard, use Dragon Claw! Breloom, use Giga Drain!” Ransai called out. “Gyarados, Ice Beam that Breloom and put it out of its misery!” Belladonna ordered the crimson Gyarados. Charizard made the first move by flying quite rapidly towards the Gyarados, and slashing it harshly, causing some damage. Gyarados countered not against Charizard, but fired an Ice beam towards Breloom, knocking it off guard, and knocking it out in an instant. Ransai stared. “Dang... I can't let this thing get the best of me.” he said, returning his Breloom. “How do you like that? The ultimate product of our research! The Red Gyarados!” Belladonna shouted, pompously. Ransai shook his head as he took out one last pokeball. “I don't. All your research did was cause harm to the pokemon you tested it on. Unforgivable.” Ransai stated, coldly. “Now, Medicham show us what ya got!” He shouted, tossing out his pokeball. In a flash of light, the yogi pokemon appeared, rather tired from its last battle.

“Don't worry, guys. Just keep at it! Charizard, Dragon Claw! Medicham, Psychic!” Ransai called out. “Ice beam on Medicham, now!” Belladonna ordered. Charizard relentlessly continued its onslaught on Gyarados causing even more damage, making it considerably weak. Gyarados again fired off an extremely cold beam at Medicham this time, and it too, was picked off like nothing. Ransai cursed under his breath for the second time today as he returned his pokemon. “One more pokemon left, Ransai...” Belladonna sang in a bitterly foreboding voice.

“Charizard, it's everything or nothing!” Ransai called out. He knew there would be no way he could take on the Gyarados for himself. “Dragon Claw!” Ransai shouted. “Hydro pump, right on that Charizard!” Belladonna called out. Charizard took off into the air again as the Gyarados began to rear its head back to fire a surge of water at Charizard. Ransai watched as if everything was in slow motion. It would all be decided with this attack. Charizard stretched its arm back as Gyarados began to initiate its attack.

Gyarados was the slower draw.

Charizard let loose a harsh slash right in Gyarados's face, causing massive damage as a small spurt of water came from its mouth. Nothing strong enough to cause any damage to Charizard. The large pokemon fell to the ground. It was over.

As Belladonna's pokemon fell, she herself fell to her knees. “I...I wasn't supposed to lose... Giovanni... he trusted me to do this...” She whispered hopelessly to herself. “As you were saying about feeding a fire?” Ransai asked. “Let me guess...I'm the fuel for the fire...” She said softly. Ransai shook his head. “You're not worth my time, to tell the truth. You've been put out as it is. Your research is up in smoke, your products have been scorched, and all evidence of this are now smoldering embers.” Ransai said, shrugging. “This...this is all your fault... THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!” Belladonna screamed.

Ransai shrugged. “I'm not the one to blame. If you want someone to blame, blame yourself. Or blame God. It doesn't matter to me.” he said, shaking his head in disgust. He approached his Charizard. “Well, big guy, that was quite the night. You wanna go home, now?” he asked. Charizard snorted, then kneeled over for Ransai to climb onto his back. After taking his position, Charizard flapped its wings, then took off into the sky. Ransai looked back down and saw the Mahogany police force surrounding Belladonna and her red Gyarados.

He began to contemplate on his experience these past hours. Well, it's finally over...looks like things were more bleak than they seemed in this whole escapade. These humans from this 'Team Blastoff' apparently have no couth, no consideration for anyone but themselves. They would go through anything to achieve their goals... even if it meant torture and pain for others. But as the page turns, they're the ones left on the chapter before. There's still a whole lot more for me to learn. I just hope that all humans aren't like this.

Ransai looked toward the sky and watched the sunset as Charizard continued over the forests and mountains back home. The wind felt good as it gently whipped at his face. It was fall, but he'd much rather be whipped by the wind, than by an Ivysaur.

-----THE END-----

Made a few edits in this to make things a bit less jumbled. I conformed it a bit more to my standards and took out those unnatural dividers. I also added in a longer separating space so a bit more sense of time passing by could be... sensed. Yeah.

Wow ! :o I must again compliment you for being quite the accomplished writer, Tails_FP. ;) Though I'm not really a Pokemon fan anymore, I did know plenty enough to be able to follow the story. I must say, that was certainly more interesting than any Pokemon adventure I've ever played, watched, or read. Excellent work, although a few things bugged me like Ransai's mention of Charles Darwin and his suggestion of who Belladonna should blame, overall it was a very well done story and Ransai is a very well developed character with a consistently amusing personality. Nice work, keep it up. I look forward to reading more of your work. :)

Eheh. xP It took me a week to get it the way I wanted back in November. That was the month I was using Ransai as my RP character. And as for Ransai and his comments, he's a bit callous because of what happens in the fanfiction. Despite of how he acts towards the humans, he's pretty friendly around the people in the RP. Most of them are humans, so that came as a shock to him. But then the RP takes place on Earth. Not Mobius.

As for my narrative areas, I just love doing those. Reading Koontz, I learned how to turn what could be boring parts into an affair to chuckle at. And as soon as I get off my lazy butt, I'm gonna resume that fan fic. And make everyone cry. xP

At least that's what I'm aiming for. o-o

Very nicely done, Tails_FoxPrower! Your story felt very much like a side-quest in a Pokemon game, only a little more geared toward the more mature crowd. As a matter of fact, it felt very much like the Mahogany Town Team Rocket side-quest in Pokemon Gold/Silver! Ransai was a character that I enjoyed a lot, as his attitude and wits were appealing to me. Fantastic work! :D

Actually, This very quest is related in the fact that this is the 'history repeats itself' syndrome. It's several years after that quest in Gold and Silver that this takes place. Team Blastoff is the offshoot of Rocket. As you could see, the place was more or less a ruin. Now this is pokemon done right. xP With a dash of the Sonic universe. o-o

4Kids= pwned by Ransai. x3
