I'm kinda disapointed at its creativity, I mean it is very similar to Pit's like I said. He could of done something else, but eh no big deal, atleast there are some differences. |

Today's update is more about brawling with any ol' random person online. One special feature is people who disconnect are seamlessly replaced with a CPU as if nothing happened. Now that's attention to detail! Seriously, what have they not thought of? It also seems to reveal that twelve characters, Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Diddy Kong, Pit, Meta Knight, Ike, Peach, Yoshi, Sonic, and Bowser are the characters you start with. Many unlockable characters are gotten through the adventure mode, probably Wario and Zelda to name two. People you brawl online will have access to their unlocked characters so they're not worrying to much about keeping them secret. I imagine there will be a few difficult to unlock characters we won't hear about for a while, though. So anybody hoping to play as Wario, Pokemon Trainer, Snake, Lucas, King Dedede, Zelda, or Ice Climbers right off may be disappointed. Still, I imagine the starting line-up's not completely set in stone yet, so that could possibly change. Those were the characters available in the demo, right? Maybe they just didn't want to reveal the real starting line-up yet. Only time will tell. |

Well as for the demo, they only choose a select few to play as. I remember they said they didn't know if they wanted to put Sonic in or not, and it was a hard choice, so I don't think it was based on already playable and unlockable. However, just as long as Pit's there from the start I'm happy(Which he is :D). But yeah, also looking at the screenshot, I'm sure you're right the final character lie up from the start isn't in stone yet(or maybe it is, y'know the game is suppossed to launch in one month in Japan, they could very well be wrapping the game up for mass production...wel for Japan, they still have time to work on it for the US, but still there probably wouldn't be any BIG changes, if any at all). But yeah, I'm kinda curious about how to unlock characters, I know he said most will be in Adventure, but I wonder if perhaps you can also unlock them on multiplayer?(Similar to how you could unlock some characters 2 different ways in Melee). |

I really hope I don't have to unlock Sonic, because...He's the one I want to try out first! ;) Oh, yeah I forgot to mention this, in the Sonic joining video when he runs through Mario, I think that is when they team up for the stroy mode. |

Great way to start things off, lol. ;) : Woah, sorry 'bout that lil' man. I guess there's a good chance that is the starting line-up for character selection, but he didn't say it was so it could be different like you guys said. Wifi really will change the face of Smash Bros! (but at the same time it doesn't have to if you don't wanna use it). 'Cause think about it, if you're playing vs mode by yourself would you rather play against the computer or against real people via Wifi? I will want to unlock some characters the natural way by playing some adventure mode and other modes before playing "anyone" online though. Oh, and apparently you have to use those coins to bet on the stage (and maybe settings?) when playing on WiFi. |

When it comes to deciding who to fight, it just all depends on if you want a challange or not :p. |

Just because you're fighting a real person doesn't mean it will be a challenge. You won't know the strength of your opponent until you're in the match with them. I wonder if WiFi w/anyone will choose your opponents completely randomly or based somewhat on skill or how much you've done in the game  He didn't say anything about making matches on as even a playing field as possible like most WiFi games have done (y'know, with similar ranks or whatev) |

That was a rather interesting update, especially the fact that the CPU will jump in for anyone that leaves the room. Too bad this isn't done with a lot of other online titles. I also believe that the character lineup in the screenshot is the same one that was used in the E for All demo, so it's possible that it could still change by the time this game is released. In fact, I expect it to. They may just be using this to test out the online modes for the moment. I'm also hoping that there is some kind of ranking thing here, so you'll have a better chance of playing an opponent that's near your level. And Dragon, as much as I hate to say it, you're probably right. In my opinion, you're really only as good as your ability to handle the elements that you can't exactly control. In other words, the great ones should have no problem with items and stage hazards because they should be good enough to deal with them, even if things aren't exactly going their way. That's why I have a problem with those that only play this game a certain way. It's just my opinion, though. |
