Yikes... as it turns out, the game has gotten quite the delay afterall.

The Proof

Well, this should be a good amount of time to putting any additional touches on the game. I'm glad this has been decided now instead of something like a week or so before the game is released. There's going to be some disappointment by this, I'm sure, but I suppose it can't be helped.

*goes and cries in the corner* I suppose I'll be okay, but with all the Smash updates on the site many of us were definitely dead set on getting Brawl this year... I suppose I must just look at this as more time to get and play the other awesome games that are still coming out like Super Mario Galaxy, Mario & Sonic, NiGHTS, and many more

That's how I feel about it, as well. I would have had a tough time trying to get all of the games I wanted this year, considering I still have to generate enough cash for the system itself. Contrary to what I tend to hear quite a bit, the Wii has a number of games that are out I want to get as well as upcoming releases I'm really looking forward to.

If Brawl needs a couple of more months before it's ready, I'm fine with that. I only wish that Nintendo wouldn't announce dates of big games at events like E3, only to see them change later on.

Yeah, they really made Dec 3rd seem like it was set in stone, but I think the delay is because of adding Sonic at the last minute so now they have to work him into the game. That's just a theory though, they may have had Sonic in it's development all along.

And to you personally, Madmangamer, since you don't have a Wii yet there are some great games already on the Wii (you know this). I have a great collection of Wii games already and I say the best ones are Wii Sports, Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, and Zelda Twilight Princess. Then there's also lot of fun to be had in Excite Truck, Mario Party 8, Mario Strikers Charged, Sonic and the Secret Rings, WarioWare Smooth Moves, and of course more.

A friend brought an interesting thought to mind: maybe one of Sonic's other costumes could be Shadow! If it could work that way it'd be pretty cool

That'd be really weird, but could work. As for the delay, I'm not disapointed one bit. We get one Smash game, and one Smash game only each console. So they gotta make it last, and I say take all the time they need. It is. . .however disheartening to hear that we're getting it in February rather than January w/ Japan. . .

Oh, your right, that means everything that hasn't been announced on the site by that time will be spoiled from the Japan version. And your point is well taken about Smash games in general, because just like Super Smash Bros. Melee is still played a lot on Gamecube (or Wii), we'll be playing Smash Bros Brawl for a looong time to come once it is out (for instance, I've been playing Melee yesterday and today still trying to get all the trophies, besides just having fun).

On the one hand we have an update with Sonic's cool special moves. XD

Yet on the other, we have ... the ... d-d-duh-deee ... *sniff* delay! :'(

:( It ... it'll be alright. We'll make it through this. *gets a box of tissues for everybody*

Seriously though, I'm glad they're taking the time to finish the game off right, but the waiting is getting harder by the day. Perhaps it's a good thing the NSider Forums no longer exist as I'm sure there'd be some flame wars and spamming over this. Some people just can't take disappointment, y'know.

Yeah, when I check my blog tonight I'm sure there'll be tons of "WTF NINTENDO!!111!!' or "DARN YOU SONIC!!!" Since everyone is blaming Sonic for the delay.

It looks as if the gaming media has finally gotten some hands-on time with this game, and so far, the comments have been really positive. IGN even has a few gameplay videos of the demo version. From what I've seen, the gameplay moves very smoothly and the visuals are very impressive. If anyone is curious, I would suggest looking around for any additional coverage.

Well, most people get a lot of stuff around Christmas, Hanukah, Quanza, etc. so they may get more money to afford it for people like me who aren't old enough for a job and don't have an allowance.
I never really felt needed or even wanted here, but I still do come back from time to time. If you want to speak to me for whatever reason, you may add me on Skype. My Skype name is revon.migouru and as long as you tell me who you are in the friend request, I will add you.
