Okay. So. I suddenly found my -favorite- book of all time two days ago and it isn't by Koontz. Yeah, I think you-know-where has frozen over too. This book's by James Patterson. Much better than what Koontz and Rowling have spun. So this book's about a group of six kids. None older than fourteen. Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy and Angel from oldest to youngest. They have wings. Now, I only found out about this book last week so I just had to have it. What with my fixation on wings with my RP. Anyway. The main character is Max, a fourteen year old girl. The story's told through her first person perspective and littered with wry little comments. The chapters are short. I've written chapters longer than what's in this book. But the action just grabs you and doesn't let you go. I read it in one sitting. About these kids. They're experiments. 98% human and 2% avian. Max is the leader of the flock of bird-kids. She loves all of them, especially Angel, the six year old. Until either...two or four years prior to the book, they lived their lives in a horrible laboratory called The School. So all Max wants is for things to settle down. With wings, you'd think that'd be easy, right? Wrong. There's another group of experiments called the Erasers. Half human, half lupine. They can morph into werewolves at will, and are a constant threat to Max's flock. Throughout the book they deal with these and go through so many twists and turns. It's funny how easily the Flock made it into my my heart but I love them all. My birthday's coming soon so I'm going to go buy the other two books as well. The fourth is coming out next spring. So yeah. Just giving you guys a heads up to a very fine reading opportunity. 8D |

According to other reviews, this book has the feel of a video game. It's intended as a young adult novel not unlike Harry Potter, but there's plenty of substance for advanced readers of any age. |

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.

What do you know, I read the two books that came out before this. "When the Wind Blows" and "The Lake House". Not bad but The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book series is still my current favorite. :p |
