I know it was just an example :p. But another cool thought would be if Sega released a version of StH2 similar to the XBL version, which features online capabilities.

Nice thought, but I really don't see that happening. The Wii doesn't even have a way to voice chat yet

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
They'll probably release headsets once the Wii gets more online games.

What does voice chat have to do with playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 online?

Well it's already on VC, so there wouldn't be as big a difference as if it had voice chat.

The main ponit would just be it was online multiplayer. I don't even think we need voice chat in most games, except maybe co-op games where you can discuss plans.

Perhaps this is Nintendo's approach, like for instance the only chatting that will be in Brawl's online mode is preset taunt messages and only your friends can see those. But would this be enough to want to buy Sonic 2 again? At least in the XBLive Arcade version you can talk to who you're playing

Yes it'd be enough, they could implement leader boards too. Voice chat isn't important at all(to me atleast, I know it is to some), I don't care if the Wii ever gets it.

The VC just keeps getting better and better gang! Pokemon Snap will be released on the VC in Japan on the 4th. Which means a US release shouldn't be too far off! And it just doesn't stop there, not only is it coming but you can send the photos you've taken to friends :D.
