Unlocking Characters; Too easy?

As everyone has been informed from the Dojo (and if you choose not to be informed on secrets by the Dojo read no further), that Ness and Marth are secret characters that can each be unlocked three different ways. But I'd like to believe that there's some mistake here because it says you can unlock Ness by playing only 5 Brawls and Marth by playing only 10. Alas, it's apparently not a mistake and this means that you can't even try out all the characters in Vs without unlocking Ness and Marth <_< (unless you fail to beat them in the Challenger Approaching match I suppose :eggman: ). GameFaqs reveals that unlocking the rest of the characters by just playing Vs matches won't take much longer. Why so easy? Should we avoid playing Vs until we've unlocked characters a more challenging way in single player modes? I think it's ridiculous that that question even needs to be asked

It is a shame, I'll be honest Mewtwo was tedious, and not "challenging" but some of the other characters were fun, I'm sad to see that they are so easy to unlock as well. And if you'd like to try people out b4 unlocking theres always training :p. Also, I wonder if online matches count as brawl matches? D: Also I remember you raised this point sorta in a thread elsewhere, maybe the Brawl match has to meet a certain requirement, like you can't make a match where all you do is KO the opponent cause it's at 2.0 and just do that 15 times for the two X_X.

I don't mind, honestly. Ness, Marth, Luigi, Captain Falcon, and Jigglypuff need to be unlocked fast. They're classics, and all of them were either easy to unlock or available from the start in the last game.

Just gives me more time to spend creating stages. ^^

Agreed. With returning characters, the faster I unlock them, the better. It's not as if we don't know what they'll bring to the table, so what's the point of keeping them locked for long periods of time? I haven't looked at the requirements for unlocking any of the characters, to be honest, but I'm not too worried about this if the characters are easier to unlock in this game than Melee. As a matter of fact, the four hidden characters in the original SSB didn't take that long to unlock, but that didn't take away from the fun. It's when you have to make things almost chore-like that starts to take away from the experience.

Me either, but I enjoyed fighting him in Adventure mode on Melee (I love the cinematic where he jumps on Mario's head and knocks him out of the way :eggman: )

A strange thing though is as far as number of vs matches Jigglypuff is one of the hardest to unlock. I think they did this as a joke since Jiggly was always the first character that you unlocked in the two previous games

Those are some good points. I'm really not so worried about it even though I made this thread and all, it'll probably all be fine once the game comes out. Heck, at that point we probably won't even give this another thought

I'm still kinda upset. I wish atleast some of the alternatives for some of the characters could be better. But I guess it's for those who don't care, and for the casual player who won't be playing it that much. Well I mean in a short period of time.

It's interesting you'd say that, because Jigglypuff was my last character! :eggman: :eggman:
