Christmas is still a while away but I've been thinking...how would you all feel about about allowing GOG to be apart of the gift exchange, in addition to the Wii Shop Channel? I figured it would be good since most GOG games are $6-$10, basically the same prices as VC/WW games.

Of course, you would need a credit card to buy the games on there so maybe not everyone could do it. What's your opinion?
I think it would be best if we don't do anything that requires a credit card. Can you explain how buying a game for someone else would work? Does GOG have a gifting service?
Yeah you can gift games. (I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise) When sending a gift to someone, you type in their email address, and they'll receive instructions on how to claim their game.

Yeah the credit card thing is what made me iffy on this but I thought I'd give it a shot since it would give us more options for the gift exchange.
Ah, well that could work. Guess we'll see what others think about it

I'm pleased to announce some forum improvement effort, a lot of it! With my drawing and Gamma's awesome CSS skills we've been coming along great with the Super Mario theme! The forum headers are a NSMB style version of Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 (I might add Mario, Goombas, Koopa, etc. later) that go along with the sky background with clouds watching your every post! We're working on the footers which will look connected to it and be an underground level. We might make the board statistics header an underwater level as well. There's still a lot to do, though. There's a lot of buttons that need to be made and the banner. We're open to suggestions, so let us know if you have any ideas for the buttons, the banner, or any colors that would fit well or colors that you suggest changing.

This just in. If you're using the currently under construction Super Mario theme and expand and close categories you earn 100 points. How cool is that? XD

Okay, so I'm working on the buttons now. I'm thinking Peach (maybe writing a note or something) will be New Topic, Toad as Add Reply (once again, maybe writing a note), and a caged Toad (like in Super Princess Peach and I'm sure other games) for Locked Post. What I'm having trouble thinking of are the Edit, Delete, Report, and Quote Post buttons (Dragon's Pokemon buttons are so genius). I figure, like his Voltorb, I'd go with a Bob-omb for Delete Post, maybe a Magikoopa for magically editing posts, but I'm at a loss for Quote and Report. I'm trying to keep this as classic as I can, though it won't be totally. I'd like Koopa Troopas, Hammer Bros, Pirahna Plants, and maybe Boos, Bullet Bills, and Chain Chomps to appear somewhere. I also need to change the locked thread icon from a star to something else as it does not suit it, but I'd like to use a star elsewhere. The online/offline-PM button also needs changing, though so far the best idea we have is Parakarry awake and asleep in his shell which doesn't really keep up with the classic theme. Any ideas?

I also plan for the board statistics header to be an underwater level and the footer to be inside a castle. The active users image could be Bowser and kids, important events a Mario Party scene, and board statistics at stat screen from some Mario RPG (not sure which one yet, though I'm thinking Mario & Luigi's from Bowser's Inside Story). The best idea I have so far for the logo banner is Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong, and Bowser all together in cool poses.

For a locked thread I suggest a key from Super Mario Bros 2 or a chain chomp since they're sometimes used as guards to keep people out of something.

I was also gonna suggest the bomb idea as well(inspired from Fire Fox's mario theme)

I'd say Doopliss for quote but you're trying to keep it classic...so uh, I dunno. Though I guess the buttons don't HAVE to have characters associated with them. You could just keep it simple.

What about colors? Think we should try incorporating a Mario overall blue? Perhaps in place of the green (text)? Do you guys like the red links or think they should be another color? And I'm thinking I'll try a yellow sand color for the currently gray areas

I think the caged Toad is a great idea for the Closed topic button (the button that only shows up when viewing a locked topic)

I'm really liking the Mario skin. Is that "Underground" level image near the bottom of the pages new? I just noticed that. And I like the red near the banner. The only thing I think I would change is the purplish blue near the banner. I think maybe a "Mario Overalls" blue would look good. That purple looks kind of dull compared to all the other bright colors used in the skin.

This I realize, just haven't gotten around to changing that color across the whole forum yet. Perhaps I'll try a Mario overalls blue as you suggest and see how it looks. The underground has actually been there for a while, the red is the only change that I made recently. Cool that you noticed though and thanks. I think the red that I chose is slightly too dark, anyone agree? I was trying to avoid it being too bright...

So the RP Board...is there a reason to keep it around any longer? No one here uses it, and it makes people like iMatsu think we actually RP here.
