Wow I wasn't expecting it to drop until Spring of next year. Well if it promises to play all my regular DS games then I might just have to reserve one... we'll see. When the original DS was released not many people took notice. There were no lines or anything and I was one of the few that reserved one in my area. Things have certainly changed |

I reserved my DS as well when it launched. Since I got it for Christmas, I didn't really take notice of how fast they were selling really til the DS Lite came out. Though that was post-Nintendogs, when the DS really took off.

I usually forget that the first year of the DS was terrible. It had nothing until mid-2005 iirc.

Yeah I remember the DS was pretty hit or miss in its early days. Took devs a little bit to get used to the new tech. One reason I'm kinda excited for the 3DS, if all the rumors are true that the dev kits are similar to the GCN, devs will already be familiar with both the GCN style of games as well as the touch screen tech. Only thing we gotta worry about now is them putting good use the 3D. |

I mostly want it right away because it plays DS games, and I've been wanting to replace my Phat for a long time. Partly for the better screens, and partly because my Phat's right speaker has always been a little messed up.

Good points. I'm still surprised that it may be coming as early as October of this year |

Fan made 3DS ideas I like the one with the Wind Waker screenshots, except for the D-pad placement. |

New DSi colors for Japan I really like them! First Nintendo system colors I really liked in a long time. I hope the 3DS has those same colors available. |

Reminds me of the Gameboy Pocket era. I like the blue one. I love my light blue DSi but I like that shade of blue just a tad better. My DSi is still my favorite nintendo handheld color though. |
