I'm guessing November at $200. Considering the 3DS has everything the DSi has and more, I think it'll be at least $200. |

Yeah, I agree the device won't be cheap, just hope its not too bad. The Wii and DS both came out about 8-9 weeks after their price and date was announced, I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS pulled the same stunt. |

I agree with those dates. Sounds about right with past releases and Sunday too. I think the price will be $169.99. I kind of expect the current DS models to drop in price when the 3DS is released, but at the same time I won't be surprised if they don't. |

You give specific dates but a somewhat broad price range. $200 wouldn't be a surprise to me either, in fact I'm gonna make that my price prediction. Interesting how the DS's price crept up with the release of the DSi and again with the XL. I mean the XL is still $190 so I don't expect anything less than that for the 3DS. It's almost mean to tell us this 2 months ahead of time, making us anticipate information. What makes you think that it will come out this holiday season? Edited by CHAOSGAMMA, Jul 30 2010, 04:44 PM.

That's because the announcement is around the same date of the Nintendo Media Summit is every year, and both times that the NMS was used to announce console dates and prices they were out within 8-9 weeks. (Pretty much only referring to Wii and DS Phat). I'm not too good at gauging new technologies, so I was really broad :P. Nintendo said they're not afraid at pricing it at what its worth though, so that may not be the best thing for us XD. But I'm sure they won't pull a Sony and think just because they WERE number one, people will fork a lot of money for a new console(even if the tech inside the console is really worth it). |

That's the mistake they made with the PSP I think. They assumed because it had the Sony brand and better graphics it would win. And considering the 3DS seems like it's going to have everything good about the PSP plus everything good about the DS, I think the PSP doesn't stand much of a chance anymore. EDIT: Well it does have one bad thing the PSP had...one analog slider. > < Edited by Brewmaster Dragon, Jul 30 2010, 06:27 PM.

I thought with the one analog nub being one of the biggest complaints I have been hearing for the PSP, Nintendo would have taken advantage of that and gone with two. Though maybe they figured the touch screen could be used as a second analog thing. Some DS games have done that and it's ok. I probably would prefer a second slider, but maybe that would be too much clutter. |

I don't think another slider under the ABXY buttons would be bad. |

Using the touch screen as a second analog would only work the best for right handed people. Lefties such as myself would have to learn to be ambidextrous or just let our performance slip XD. Or Nintendo could offer left and right handed 3DS models, doubtful, but its a thought D:. |

A demo for Ivy the Kiwi? is on the Nintendo Channel. You might be immediately reminded of Kirby Canvas Curse. |
