I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
KH3DS now has a title...

It took me a bit to get it.

Dream Drop Distance? I get it, but what a weird title anyway. Well, maybe 358/2 Days is a weirder title still.

There will be no old Disney levels in this game.

Looking at the trailer it looks like it won't feel like Traverse Town as far as gameplay is concerned so its getting a free pass from me. Plus, creating entirely new levels and worlds takes plenty of time and effort so I'm sure they wanted to put all resources towards that rather than adding a few new sections to Traverse Town in which probably won't be any more important than it is in any of the other games past the first one.

He said no old DISNEY levels. :p

This DID look like a remake of KHI at first though, with the screens of Sora, Donald, Goofy and Riku in their KHI outfits in Traverse Town.

I was afraid of the same thing as well. If not a remake or retelling like the Re: games, at least something that wouldn't take the series very far. . .but this looks like a nice step in the right direction like Birth by Sleep.

Yeah but if they keep on digging for Disney movies they are gonna be tapped out when they finally want to do KH3. I mean, we can tell by the trailer Hunchback is in, and there are others they can do like Emperors new Groove, The rescuers, the great mouse detective and Princess and the Frog. But again, unless they can get Pixar to let them use their properties sooner or later they are gonna run out of stuff and HAVE to recycle worlds, they NEED to get KH3 going.

According to a post by Nomura Kingdom Hearts 3D will serve as a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts III will serve as the "Final Battle". So hopefully they have enough interesting worlds to use. I do agree though, that even two more games will result in them digging at the bottom of the barrel for great worlds.

As far as recycling levels goes, I don't mind if they do it in a sense where they utilize aspects out of sequels or perhaps things they didn't cover from the source material.

For example, we've gotten pretty much the same Wonderland like five times out of seven games(this is an exaggeration, though it is entirely possible), but its just the same Wonderland over and over, no new areas, no new characters, no new scenarios. There is so much more they could do with the Alice in Wonderland property without even touching into Tim Burton's territory so if they wanted to revisit that but with new areas and characters be my guest. As much as I love Nightmare Before Christmas, do we ever need to see that world again? No, not at all. There's nothing left they could do with that level without making up their own story(which they did in Kingdom Hearts II and it basically went against what its source material established). I'd also love to see a revist to the Pirates world and have to fight the Kraken.

Throwing us Agrabah again and calling it a day and perhaps having a villain from Aladdin 3 just won't cut it though.
