This board gets no love, does it?

Anyway, Capcom announced a new DS game at the World Hobby Fair, and they're actually trying something a little different. Rather than the standard billionth sequel, they've decided to crossover the Battle Network and Star Force series. The game is known in Japan as Rockman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star. It will have the same basic gameplay as the BN/SF series, though nothing else is really known.

Seems like an easy way to throw out two sequels at the same time :P.

Hey guys, play Snatcher
Funny, not along ago I was thinking of a Mega Man crossover I wanted to see. A fighting game crossover.

Seriously, I think it would be awesome to play as the Robot Masters or the Mavericks in a fighting game. Heck, Magma Dragoon from X4 is basically Ryu.

Come on Capcom.
Jumpin' the bandwagon

When I heard the news on this game I heard that there had supposedly been rumors of a cross over fighting game with all of the series, and not just those two.

Wasn't that Scramble Battle?

It's probably that, the people who were talking about it didn't go into details, but after re-reading that thread, it seems most likely.

So, apparently, this game is a DS remake of BN1. (And since I, rather embarrassingly, haven't played that game, yippee.) Of course, there will be new stuff (including SF stuff) included in it.

Also, there's a little tidbit on the Japanese SF3 site possibly hinting at a plot point:

Currently, it sounds like the Satella Police are secretly developing a new program to be included in Wizards. It’s rumored that if used one “can control time” but… is something like that really possible?

I thought those were going to be two separate titles, kinda disappointing to hear since the first Battle Network was one of the only few I enjoyed(I liked the third one too kinda, but it wasn't as good as the first)

Weird. The more info I hear about this game, the more I think Capcom is being really lazy on it. Really, the only new stuff I'm seeing is the SF bits, ClockMan, the new mugshots, and the map. They could've made the game 3D instead of using the same old 2001 GBA graphics. I guess the only thing that's making me really want this game is the fact that I've never played the first BN anyway.
