After bumping into Project:Shadow over at dA, I remembered this place. Fittingly, for those who remember me, I've got a thread. It seems the Guinness world record for beating Sonic 3 is 59 minutes and 4 seconds. I think. But, those who know me might expect something bigger... I've crushed that time with my raw times in each act.My first run was ~45 mins, and some of my second runs were 40. I've since honed all those times, and I don't quite know what they'd add up to now. Chronological addition is not my strong suit. But here they are. Feel free to compare <3 AI1: 1:07 AI2: 2:07 HC1: 1:53 HC2: 3:54 MG1: 2:46 MG2: 4:08 CN1: 1:26 CN2: 4:10 IC1: 2:47 IC2: 1:32 LB1: 3:42 LB2: 5:36 |

I was getting to the part where I say, "Hey, why don't you come by SSF again sometime," but luckily you're a step ahead of me. LoL That's pretty amazing. I'd sure like to see some of that action. Now you make me wanna take a stab at that myself. I've actually been playing Sonic Mega Collection and a few other Genesis games lately, though not for time record purposes. |

I have too, mainly because of getting the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on 360, but I've also just been playing lots of classic/retro games recently. You said "I'd like to see some of that action," well why don't we showcase it? I don't have a Dazzle or anything like it, but I've thought about getting one. You on the other hand, Project: Shadow, do have one yet haven't shared any videos or anything with us from using it. And nice to see you here, TailsFP. So the challenge for you is getting close to all of those best times in the same playthrough to break the total record? Have you looked into how you would prove that you broke the record for Guinness? |

Seems I would have to call up my local Gamestop and have them call other people (witnesses, audience) to watch it happen. Anyway, I didn't clear the zones with every single one of these times. My quickest straight time was 40 minutes (I think), but together I think the raws are about 36 minutes. Mind, this is without the collection of the chaos emeralds. While getting Super Sonic might tack on 7-10 more minutes, every single act can be further honed and broken with him. Perhaps enough that I could come close to my fastest straight play. Either way, that world record of 59 (maybe it was 49...doesn't really matter) minutes is doomed. And yes, I exist. : D Edited by Tails_FoxPrower, Oct 15 2009, 02:21 PM.
