So why do you think VC is dead?

I think it's because of Nintendo's dumb policies. The third-parties don't see any money until their game sells a certain amount.
That may be part of it, but then why doesn't Nintendo release more first party games? There are still a few they need to release. I think it may have to do with games like Ocarina of Time for 3DS. It may make them more money selling a remake for $30 than it is to sell a port for $10. And if they'll be releasing both VC games and retail versions, they may cut into each other's sales. So maybe they had to choose between one or the other.

I think it could also be due in part of Nintendo wanting to focus more on Wiiware and spending more time and money on that rather than evenly dividing up the load.

This week I downloaded Zenonia. It's actually a pretty good game. I think it was originally an iPhone game, but now it's on DSi. I thought it was just an innocent RPG, but then I wandered into a crack house and found a mysterious drug dealer who operates only between 2 and 5 AM. You can play as three different classes, each with different abilities and such. You can also choose between being good and evil. That's always fun. It's pretty impressive for a DSiWare title, but there are times when the size restriction of these DSi games make Zenonia feel like it's being held back.

Sounds cool, I'd like to check ZENONIA out soon.

Shantae is this week's big release, and that makes this week a success in my eyes. But throwing in a VC game is always nice. Bonus points, despite the fact I probably won't purchase the game.

What with Shantae last week and Sonic this week, I expect next week to be terrible. Isn't that the pattern? When we get the occasional awesome line-up, a poor week is soon to follow?

I can't tell if that jumping game is being tongue-in-cheek.

For anyone that owns Cave Story Wiiware, it has recently been updated. The music and map have been fixed, and the extra modes have been locked until you meet certain requirements now(though chances are if you own the game by now you've probably already beaten it and this part won't affect you), and a few other changes.

Gonna have to update it in a little bit and check it out. I forget, anyone else here own CS?

I have CS, but it's been a while since I played it. It's not often we get updates like this, so thanks for the heads up.

No problem, I don't think we've had a substantial update such as this since Gradius Rebirth, and I'm not even sure if that update ever even went through. I just remember hearing an announcement.
