Yeah I'm skipping this week as well, though I've heard magnificent things about the eShop title. |

Weekly Downloads Nothing for Wii again for the second week in a row. 3DS has 3D Classics Kid Icarus. I like it, but I'm glad I got it free with Uprising. Speaking of Uprising, I think I have given up on that game. I just can't get used to the controls. |

i made it to chapter 8 and stopped playing myself. The game has tons of content, and all that. but I have a feeling this game won't be a long time seller like say Mario or heck even Sonic Generations. (Which is actually pretty good on 3DS) |

I have to agree, as much as it pains me to say (Kid Icarus was one of my most anticipated 3DS titles), the controls are killing it for me. I think I'd like it better if I were right handed or had a CPP, but as it stands it just hurts my hands to play. I only made it to Chapter 6 I believe. I'd love to beat it, but I'll either have to make myself ambidextrous or wait for more CPP's to come out. |

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.

It's funny to see how much people are divided on their opinions of the controls. I've seen both people that can't play with them and people that can. I really wonder how I'd feel about them should I ever get the game. It seems to pretty much be the deciding factor on whether or not you'll like the game. |

Its not that the controls are bad per say, but mapping 2 functions to one input is not a good idea. Controlling where I am aiming and the camera using the touch screen is not very intuitive. I have seen a decent split of people myself, but that might be just the Nintendo white knights apologizing for their heroes short comings. ANYWAY... Imagine trying to play Team Fortress 2 from a third person perspective where the mouse moved both your targeting and where the camera was pointing independently. It simply doesn't work. I think we aren't gonna see Pit outside Smash bros for a while. Sakurai screwed up, the stand and the free game had to cost nintendo a decent penny, not to mention all the extra development time. It was suppose to be a launch title if you recall. Like I said I don't think this one won't be a long time seller, outside serious game hobbyists like us. (BTW I am no longer referring to serious gamers as gamers, but as game hobbyists it sounds better IMO) The game will not reach a big audience. Also since this is the nintendo weekly update thread, anyone else feel like the weekly update for Wii and 3DS is a joke? Especially compared to Xbox Live and PSN? The Wii? Most definitely. Once they stopped doing VC titles on a regular basis and Wiiware only getting a hit every six months its become a disaster. 3DS? Far from it. The 3DS has consistent updates of great titles on a weekly basis and has one of the strongest digital line ups I've seen in a while. The only problem I have with the eShop is they don't release enough titles at a time. I believe in quality of quantity but they're sitting on both quality and quantity right now and aren't doing anything (In regards to the 3DS VC that is). Although when they bunch it with DSiware and The Wii Shop it does look pretty shoddy. To be quite honest, it's only once in a blue moon that I ever hear anything interesting hit the 360 (though I rarely play that anymore so I'm heavily biased in that regard) and truth be told I probably wouldn't use the PSN nearly as much if I weren't getting free games or discounts. Though even without the games and discounts, Sony has been doing very well lately with their online service. Though they're in a slightly similar predicament than Nintendo, the US PSN is sitting on tons and tons of classic PS1 and PS2 titles that they just refuse to release. I mean one week the PSN got Spongebob Squarepants The Movie for PS2. . .really? And they also have consistent sales for non-PSN+ members as well, which is always nice. Does Xbox Live often have any sales for Silver members? That's something Nintendo seriously needs to get into. As far as Kid Icarus goes, the touch screen camera wouldn't be so bad honestly if it wasn't handled like a freaking globe or trackball. Its so awkward. |

I believe Xbox has daily deals for everyone, and the marketplace has sales and price drops listed for several MONTHS. You can look at sales, and price drops going back to January! And both PSN and XBLA get quality titles and demos frequently, much more then wii or DS. I really don't understand the lack of VC titles for 3DS, I mean the GB had over a thousand games! I think it may have been closer to 1200! Whats the hold up? I know I probably won't buy most, since they are way overpriced. (especially compared to being able to get Persona 3 on PSN for what $10?) But I would still get certain ones with lots of replay ability. (Kirby Pinball Land, Tetris Attack/Pokemon Puzzle Challenege, Zelda Ages/Season, ANY pokemon game [pretty sure that will never happen!] among others I never played) edit, you know I bet we might (MIGHT) see Pokemon Yellow, since that one is kinda a one shot deal in the pokemon series. Weekly Downloads This week the Wii gets a VC game. Systems update is the main focus this week. Nothing for me this week as far as purchases go. |

Also worth noting about that VC title is that online play was added to it! Still not interested in it, but that's pretty cool. Nothing for me this week, but that's no big deal, for I have no money right now! |
