i imagine nintendo will release the GBA games eventually, and frankly I don't care if they release the ones they gave to the ambassadors or not. I got them for free, thats all I care about. |

Weekly Downloads Haven't posted this in a while I think, but we got some VC games. DK Jr. for 3DS and Mega Man X2 for Wii. Wii is getting a lot of VC games suddenly. Well maybe "a lot" isn't the right term, but more than the usual zero. That's fine by me. |

Yeah, what's with the burst of VC games? Nintendo/other companies suddenly care again? |

I imagine it's got something to do with wii u. Probably so they can roll out some bull closer to the systems release about how they always cared and here are some recent examples to prove it. |

It seems the Japanese eShop had gotten Ice Climbers with download play. So you could play mutliplayer with two 3DSes. |

Hey that's cool! I'm totally down for some nice features like that. I've been thinking (and mentioning in my Club Nintendo surveys), with Nintendo supposedly going digital starting with New Super Mario Bros 2, they've got a huge gap to fill! Here they're slowly giving us original Game Boy games (faster this month, thankfully), and we've only gotten, what, 2 Game Boy Color titles? When they could have a huge library of DS games available for everyone to download (+GBA and the rest). But I didn't really want to complain, but rather suggest that Pokemon Black and White 2 would be the perfect place to start. I've heard a bunch of people say that they'd rather have the full retail copy of NSMB2, and I feel that way too, but I think there are a few reasons that people would be more inclined to download the new Pokemon. 1. The way you keep playing so much and frequently, the game would always be right there when you pick up your 3DS rather than changing game cards (you know that would be handy). 2. To avoid harrasment. You may not agree, but I think it is a strong point because of the way that the general populous treats Pokemon (and then go home and play it behind closed doors, lol). But they won't do it. So I'm just looking forward to downloadable GBA and DS games hopefully coming eventually. Edited by CHAOSGAMMA, Jul 9 2012, 06:38 PM.

Your first point about downloadable Pokemon is the biggest reason I plan on downloading Animal Crossing for 3DS when it comes out, that'll just make the game so much more convenient to play! I can play it whenever, wherever I want and not have to worry about swapping out any other cartridges. |

Oh yes, you're very right, it will be perfect for Animal Crossing! That makes me see how the benefit WILL be nice for Mario too because of the downloadable levels that they'll be adding periodically. Might that thought coerce anyone into going digital? It's certainly got me thinking about it more. This also makes me wonder, how much space will 3DS games take up? I'm sure it will vary, but will we eventually all be going out to buy 32 GB SD cards? |

Hmm, that is a good point. I personally think I'm going to stick with physical Mario for now (though who knows, my mind may change by August!). In all honesty, I guess it just depends on the game! The Wii version of New Super Mario Bros. is a couple hundred megabytes, I highly doubt the 3DS version will push that, or even match it, since it looks more in line with the original DS version. Animal Crossing on Wii was only 300 MBsish also. So in all honesty, I guess it just depends on how many you plan on buying digitally! If you plan on buying the rest of your games digitally (the ones available naturally) then yeah, you'll probably need to upgrade to a 16 GB or higher card. Right now I still got my 2 GB default card which I feel I'll definitely have to update when they start releasing more digital games. For those who don't know/remember my Wii's disc drive broke about 2 years ago (2 years and some change) and instead of sending it and getting it fixed (I was far too cheap for that!) I hacked my Wii to allow me to play games via a hard drive. I only play games i own though, I've never pirated a game I don't own (not even to "demo" if you will), so I own a hard copy of my Wii games, as well as having them all available to pick from on a hard drive without swapping discs. I have to admit, its awesome. Its awesome to be able to pick any game I own right from my Wii. But at the same time I love having my physical copies, I don't know if its a collector's thing or what. . .but what I'm getting at is, I really wish if you bought physical, you could get download as well, either for a lower price or free. I definitely understand why they don't (so you don't give your digital copy away for free or any of that jazz) but I just wish it'd happen! |

Game sizes does vary, gonintendo had an article a while ago about 3DS game sizes. Resident Evil revelations for example used a special 4 gig card if it recall correctly. (may have been 2) but I believe Nintendo offers them up to 8 GB. I wouldn't worry about sizes too much cause the cards keep getting cheaper, I just got a 16 gig card for my 3DS for only $20 at Staples. |
