I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
Oh yeah you're right. I could've sworn I had seen MGS3 for Xbox.

Yeah Gamma's options are pretty slim, all he can really get is MGS2 on Xbox, and Metal Gear Solid 1 on his PSP. Playing MGS4 without playing any other Metal Gear Solid game is pretty pointless for the most part. You'll have fun playing it, but the majority of the game is cut scenes, so they're not really going to mean anything to you.

Oh and as for MGS2, he can only play that as long as its compatible with the 360, since not every Xbox game is playable on the 360.

EDIT: According to Microsoft's list MGS2 is not compatible on the 360.

I remember Gamma having an original Xbox, unless he's gotten rid of it since then.

The more you say to play it, the less I want to.

Hey I gave you guys a year without saying anything. I say I deserve another shot at convincing you to play it. And it's an adventure game, you'll beat it in five hours

Ok ok, I'll go look up Snatcher. I know MGS is story heavy and there's tons of back-story for everything in the games that players can dig into if they choose to. So yes being that way I would want to play MGS first, the GCN remake sounds like a good choice for me. I sold my PSP not too long ago when I got the DS XL. I never played the thing and there weren't really any games for it I wanted. As for the Xbox, in a way you're both right: Yes I had an Xbox, but I traded it in for my 360 so I don't have it anymore. I even owned MGS2 for a short time (it came with the Xbox), but I didn't get into it or get anywhere in it after trying it a couple times so I sold it. It's really lame that MS quit making Xbox games backward compatible a couple years ago; when they did that I ended up selling the few xbox games I had that were never made compatible. But I'm sure there's a good chance that MGS is one that was made backward compatible. I am curious now so I'll look these things up and find out.

Yes, I see that you are correct. That's a shame. And Dragon was correct on the platform availability of the games. Well if I do get into the series I can play Snake Eater in 3D when it comes out for the 3DS!
