Earlier last week I got an email from Nintendo saying they have some exciting things going on for the release of Dragon Quest IX. I replied saying I was interested in their shenanigans and today I got a package in the mail. I receive a DQIX poster and a letter telling me of the trivia contest. Now I'm no Dragon Quest buff. I have only played IV, VII, and VIII, so I don't know how well I would do in the contest. However, they say the odds of winning are at least 1 in 2 or better, so maybe I have a chance. They will email me the first question tomorrow at noon. The first people who answer correctly will move on to other questions. I'm hoping some people will be at work or whatever at that time and it'll give me some sort of advantage over the competition. 1 in 2 are good odds. Guess not too many were selected to be in this contest. Here are the prizes. Second place (100) - Dragon Quest t-shirt First place (50) - Dragon Quest IX soundtrack CD Grand Prize (25)- Dragon Quest IX game and Blue DSi I'm hoping I could quickly google an answer and submit it before anyone else can. Oh, and if you want, we can make this a general Dragon Quest IX discussion as well. |

Whoa, cool. Hopefully it works out! I love DQ. I'd buy IX on day one if I wasn't saving my money. |

I haven't forgone Dragon Quest that much, save for the Wii game and owning DQ8(only put in a few hours so far, hope to put more in soon) but I really want IX. Glad you scored some sweet swag! |

I thought I'd throw in the questions they are sending for the contest. Try to answer them if you think you can! Actually, I think you can. I thought this was going to be some sort of trivia on the DQ series, but wow. I guess I should have expected this. 1. Which of the following features can be customized when creating a character in Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies? a. Hair b. Face c. Eye color d. All of the above Are you stumped? Well, it's only week one. |

You got it. I guess it may have been easier for me since I've been watching the character creation videos constantly trying to figure out what my team will look like. I think I can create some decent looking Super Saiyan Goku and Future Trunks characters. Maybe even a Bulma and Krillin. That sounds like a decent team to me. Dragon Ball IX? :3 Can't wait to take a crack at the character creator, and the game itself. |

There are also costumes for every DQ party member in the series. Including King Trodan from VIII, who wasn't really a party member. |

That sounds really cool. I like Toriyama's art style, but I hate the lack of creativity and how every character looks the same, so I'm hoping with the character creation there will be more variety. |

From what I have seen, there are eight different hair styles and eight different faces for both genders. Then you can choose from eight different colors for hair and eyes. And then I think you have maybe four or five different heights to choose from. So there's some variation to the character designs. |
