Just downloaded and played through the Duke Nukem Forever demo. I enjoyed it. A lot. It really felt like classic Duke but upgraded in all the right areas. It kept the traditional style, but still updated it to 2011 standards. Hopefully the entire game doesn't disappoint. |

I just downloaded Donkey Kong on the 3DS. I heard so many great things about it, but didn't really know anything about the game. I played the first couple levels and thought, "this is just regular Donkey Kong!" Spoiler: click to toggle It's pretty awesome. Also I'm playing Alice: Madness Returns. I played the first Alice game before starting the new game. I thought it was alright, but it was obviously a very dated game. I liked the style of the game, but controls were a real pain for me to get used to. Then I started Madness Returns and I love this game so far. I love the art style of the game, I love upgrading my weapons, and I love the platforming. It's not 100% perfect, but I'm having a lot of fun. Pretty much everything is vastly improved over the first game. Fighting is much better. In the first one, you had to cycle through weapons and many of these weapons were just useless to me. Once I had the jacks, that was my main method of attack. In the new game, all your weapons have a use. The knife is your weak and quick weapon, saddle horse is slow, strong, and can break enemy defenses, pepper mill is your ranged attack, and you have bombs that can distract enemy swarms. And you got this cool dodge that turns Alice into butterflies, and the entire game is just fun and beautiful. I love it. |

Glad you enjoyed ALice. I just beat the first one and am finally starting the second one. For the most part I thought the first game was pretty solid, there were obviously some glitches from the PC to console port and some PC elements still remained such as the controls. Over all I liked the story of the first game, and the fact that it felt dated was actually a plus for me. I didn't think it was the bad kind of dated. As for the weapons, I mostly used the Ice Staff thing and the jacks. Then used the Jabberwock staff for the last few boss fights. Also, I just downloaded the Bit.Trip: Runner demo on Wii and absolutely loved it. I was just going to wait and get one of the collections on Wii or 3DS but now I just don't think I can wait. . .I should have played the demo during the steam sale! It also makes me question which version I should get. Playing runner I saw many things that'd look simply awesome in 3D, however, for the same price I can get the Wii package which seems to have more content. I think I'll go with the Wii version but i'm still not decided completely. Edited by Hyper Metal Sonic, Jul 13 2011, 04:54 PM.

I downloaded the No More Heroes demo for the PS3, and I gotta say, No More Heroes just ain't no fun unless you have motion controls. I probably won't get getting the title until I get a Move controller. |

I agree with you there. No More Heroes is definitely better when your swinging a sword. As for the Move, I'm liking it more and more. I've been playing a lot of RE5 and the Motion controls do feel better for me. Most of the problems I had earlier were all resolved with some more play time. I did however come across two other weird things about the Move. One was when I pressed pause and had to go somewhere for a few minutes. The Move and nav controllers shut off like any other controller would do, but when I came back I could not get back into the game. I turned on the controllers, but I couldn't get out of that "reconnect the controllers screen." I could go into the XMB just fine, but the game wasn't responding. I also noticed it switched the numbering of the controllers around on me when they shut off, so that may have been the problem. The nav has to be set to controller 1, but when I came back it was at 6. I had to turn off the game in the end, but luckily I had just hit a checkpoint so nothing was lost. Kind of weird, and there may have been a fix, but i couldn't find it. The other thing is the pointer controls don't really point to where you aim. When you press the T button (it's like the B button on the Wii remote, but they call it the T button. I call it the T Virus), the aiming reticule points to the center of the screen no matter where you are aiming. You can point to the ceiling and you'll aim in the center of the screen. This could completely disorientate you if you're too far off the center, but it's actually not really as bad as it sounds. When I'm playing, I'm aiming at the screen anyway. So when I hit that T (Virus) button, my aim is usually good. So overall, the Move works pretty well. I like it. I'm enjoying RE5 again and I recommend it if you are interested in this. I got it at Walmart's online store for a decent price new. Each item (Move, nav controller, PS Eye, and charging dock) were about $10 off so I saved some good money. It was free shipping too and I actually got my items the next day. Those prices were online only though. They were full price in the store when I went to check. But you can shop around and see what the best prices are. |

I started playing Gemini Rue. I like it so far, and it really feels like an old adventure game, in a good way. The graphics kind of remind me of Beneath a Steel Sky. I recommend getting it from that indie bundle I mentioned if you like cyberpunk adventure games. |

Thats actually what happens to me with a lot of old school FPSs. I'll play them straight through for a while, get stuck or lost for one reason or another and not play for a while. |

It also happened to me with the first level of Final Doom, though I also got through that earlier today. |
