Overall, I didn't really care for the XBox conference. Kinect still doesn't interest me, and there was a lot of Kinect coverage. Scanning yourself to make an avatar looks cool. It was weird seeing so many games with Kinect support now. A lot of the movements looked a bit clumsy, like throwing magic in Fable. That game just didn't sit well with me. I don't think I'll be buying Kinect still.

The Halo 4 reveal was kind of diminished since it was kind of leaked earlier along with the Halo remake in HD.

Yeah I didn't feel strongly about this one way or the other. It's only natural that more games using Kinect are coming out though, I don't know why people were surprised by that.

I thought Fable and Star Wars looked pretty bad though. I don't like that they're on-rails. And that SW game should've been on the Wii. Pressing A to activate the lightsaber would've been so much better than saying "LIGHTSABER ON"

Yeah if they did something like that in the films it'd be much more understandable, but here it just seems like it for the sake of saying "WE HAVE THIS FEATURE!".

As far as Kinect goes, I REALLY like the tech behind it, seeing all of the cool things to do with it is really fun. But actually spending the money on it is another thing. There's really nothing interesting game wise that i'd really like or put money down on.

But yeah, over all that star wars game really does look awful.

If Nintendo does the same thing that they did last year, balance the "core gamer" stuff with the "casual gamer" material then they could very steal the show again this year.

Sheesh, it'll be a dream come true if the Cafe gets all the multiplatform/"hardcore" games next gen and I only need to buy one console.

And yeah, I agree about Kinect. Like I said before, the way they used it in Ghost Recon looks great, but it's still just a novelty that doesn't seem worth $150.

I'm not sure why I watched the Microsoft conference as I don't have a 360, but I did anyway. I found myself cracking up through about half of it. Thank Kinect for that.

I seriously don't know how non-casual games work with Kinect. It's either results in forcing the whole game on-rails (Fable + Star Wars) or implementing it in ways that can very easily be done without it (Mass Effect).

I kept forgetting to mention, I'm cautiously optimistic about Tomb Raider. I don't like all the QTEs but it looks good otherwise. And I love Lara's new design.

I watched the COD gameplay and was not impressed. It looks pretty much just like the last 3.

I also watched the mass effect gameplay. The voice commands looked terribly tacked on, and very similar to games like Life Line or early Socom titles that came out on Ps2 nearly a decade ago...

That 3D TV from Sony is looking mighty appealing. . .

EDIT: Oh cool Sly 4! This'll motivate me to get back to the collection!
