Anyone else get the game yet? I put about an hour in and I'm still trying to customize the controls. I'm thinking I'll set it as Smash attacks to B and specials to Y. I don't like the 3DS as a controller for this game. I'm definitely going back to GameCube controllers with the Wii U version.

I have played as Pac-Man and Rosalina. I really like Pac-Man and he'll probably be one of my mains. Rosalina is cool, but I'm still trying to figure her out. I get confused when you separate luma from her. I've been hearing around that she's one of the best fighters so maybe I'll keep practicing.
Yeah, I picked it up at a midnight release. I started to customize my controls as well, but after spending so much time with the demo I actually got pretty used to those controls (minus tapping up on the circle pad to jump). I've played for nearly four hours and unlocked four characters, I think I'm ready to go to bed now. Lol I tried out all the new characters available from the start and several veterans. I played several rounds of Smash Run, and everything else at least once. First one I tried out was Robin, though his moves are trickier to learn right away than some characters. I really like him, though. Little Mac man, just ... Little Mac ... he hits like a truck! Both Rosalina and Palutena seemed pretty fun to me and Pac-Man is great. I really like the Mii Brawler and Swordfighter, I'm not too good with the Gunner yet. All of the customization in the game is great and there's so much to unlock for it.

Anyway, I'm off tomorrow so I can't wait to play against all of you. :mega:

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
I've been playing since this morning. I'm getting used to the 3DS controls. One downside is that it can be really hard to tell what's going on during chaotic 4 player fights.

Upside, I really like the new Classic Mode. I love the branching paths and unlocking stuff in it.

Yeah, I've been playing more and I got used to the controls. I've only unlocked three characters so far and a few stages. I really like the F-Zero stage and Game Boy Kirby stage. I'm playing as Mega Man and Greninja now. Greninja is really cool since he can do this repeated down smash attack in the air.

So I unlocked every character. I'll throw in some spoilers here I guess.

I'm loving Zero Suit Samus. I also like Rosalina and Sonic.

I just tried an online match. It so way to laggy. Totally unplayable. Hope the wii u version plays better online.

I got the game as well.

I'm a little torn on it. The foundation of a fantastic game is certainly there. The levels are good, the characters are fun, but I still think the controls don't work very well on the 3DS. I mean I can't really say they're "bad". They're Smash controls, what more can you want. Its just the ergonomics of the 3DS isn't a good fit for fast paced nature of Smash.

It reminds me of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on PSP, the fundamental Kingdom Hearts controls were there, and in theory should work fine, but the shape of the PSP made it an uncomfortable mess to play for long sessions.

I can easily see my 3DS version of Smash becoming obsolete when the Wii U version is released (which was officially confirmed for November 21st today!).

And yeah, online is really bad. Which is a real bummer. I don't get why Mario Kart (on DS for the most part, Wii, 3DS, and Wii U) can run so well online and have good infrastructures but then when it comes to Smash on Wii and 3DS run pretty bad. I'm hoping it might just be launch week hiccups. Mario Kart 8 wasn't necessarily laggy opening week, but there were disconnects here and there that quickly went away once the hype died down. I might invest in a wired connection for my Wii U if I have to.

Out of the new characters, the only ones I've really given a lot of time to were Little Mac and

. I absolutely love Little Mac, I can see him being one of my mains. He's just so great to play as, I want his Amiibo!

Speaking of which, Wave 1 comes out November 21st with Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth

And then Wave 2 in December with: Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon

I'm definitely getting Luigi and Little Mac. Interested in the rest but will have to see which ones I decide to spend money on :P.

Funny enough, online play was really smooth and practically lag-free during the late morning and whole afternoon of launch day. Then since the end of launch day it's been pretty laggy.

I also really like ZSS. She just feels so...right. I barely played as her in Brawl so I'm not sure if she felt like this there. I never felt like remembering the thing to start as her.

And I'm so glad Bowser finally got buffed to being good. He really needed it. I also think Charizard got a big buff here too, it feels much better now.

I'm also liking Ness in this game. I never really liked him much in older games and thought he was a bit difficult to play as, but I think his PK thunder controls much better in this game. He's not going to be one of my regulars, but I had fun playing as him.

Robin was the first character I tried out and I really like him/her. They're pretty funny if you listen to their voice clips. Male Robin sounds caring though arrogant but female Robin is a bit of a jerk. Lol Other characters I've been using a lot are Lucina, Rosalina, and of course Little Mac. I'm pretty much addicted to Smash Run same as I was City Trial on Kirby Air Ride. I've unlocked a ton of custom parts and I love the customization options introducing interesting abilities like critical hits and auto-heal. As everyone unlocks more I'd really enjoy hearing about some of your builds for the characters as well as your Miis. Online was pretty smooth early in the day at launch, but as more people got their hands on the game it quickly went south. Hopefully they can resolve some of their server issues because we really need to liven this place up with some games! It's been way too long!

Anyone interested in playing Smash at some point? I tried some online and it was a little laggy. Not as bad as Brawl was. I say we try anyway.
