I recently found out that Sega Saturn emulation has gotten farther along than I thought. The SSF emulator seems to play Saturn games pretty well. So far I've played Exhumed and Resident Evil fine. I've seen Mega Man 8 playing on it as well. However, in order to play games, you'll need a program to make a virtual disk drive. Daemon Tools will get the job done, and it's easy to use. When mounting a disk image on DT, you'll have to select the .CUE file. A problem I've run into is that DT won't always take the CUE file for some reason. I'm currently trying to see if there's a solution to that. You'll also need the Sega Saturn BIOS, you can Google them. So, feel free to discuss Saturn emulation/games! |

I've been really intrigued to play the Battle Mode on Resident Evil Saturn, see where the RE mini games began! I also REALLY wanna try out the original NiGHTS. |

Okay, the solution I found to the CUE problem seems to have worked. If there's a time where DT isn't taking a CUE file, try doing what is says here after scrolling a bit, where it says "If you try to load the .cue file with Daemon Tools, you would get an error. To fix this, follow these steps:" To be specific, I tried the part where you use the Sega Cue Maker to make a new .cue file. Although that only works if the folder contains separate MP3 files with (I think) an ISO. |

And another problem solved! If you download a game and it's made up of .mds and .mdf files, you can use UltraISO to convert them to bin and cue files. |

Not much enthusiasm for the Sega Saturn? I guess this is easy for me to say since I haven't payed any money for all this but the Saturn is a neat system so far. Here are some games I've been playing. Exhumed (aka Powerslave) Posted Image An FPS set in Egypt, where you fight bugs, birds and even guys that look like Anubis. I've heard people call this a proto-Metroid Prime, but I haven't gotten far enough yet to really see it. This version is pretty different from the PC version, but so far it actually seems better. Baku Baku Animal Posted Image I'm surprised this game even got released here! It's an interesting puzzle game where you stack both food and animal blocks. You have to get rid of blocks by placing food blocks next to the animal that eats that food. For example, the monkey eats banana blocks, so set monkey blocks near them. Saturn Bomberman Posted Image Well, it's Bomberman. Not much to say if you've played other classic Bomberman games. This one has great 2D graphics and music though. It also has some nice animated cut scenes. Bubble Symphony Posted Image Pretty much the same thing as above. The usual Bubble Bobble gameplay, with great graphics and music. Die Hard Arcade Posted Image You'll quickly learn that this actually has little to do with Die Hard! But it's a fun beat em up anyway. The attacks and weapons are pretty satisfying to use. I plan on trying more games soon! |

Nice display of some of the better-looking Saturn games out there! I never had a Sega Saturn or played one for that matter, so I'm not familiar with most of the games either. I still wish they'd re-release NiIGHTS on VC or XBLA. |

Wouldn't that be too big for VC? Most Saturn games seem to be at least a few hundred MB. I still haven't gotten around to playing NiGHTS, I ought to soon. |
