I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
It's Square-Enix (really more Eidos) weekend on Steam. Today's deals are for the the Hitman series.

My current computer is a MacBook that's already upgraded as much as I can. So I need to get a new Computer, I'm weighing my options.

Part of me wants to build, part wants to buy one, part of me wants a new iMac.

I don't recommend buying a pre-built PC. It'll be cheaper to put together a PC yourself and it'll be more powerful than a pre-built PC of the same price. It's really not hard to build one, just follow the instructions that will come with your motherboard. The hardest part will be picking what parts you want, as that will require some research, but I can help if you want. There are guides for picking gaming PC parts too, if you prefer.

I guess you already know that you'll be limiting your gaming options by a lot if you stick with Mac. I think it boils down to what you want to do. Do you want to play the new mainstream games? If so, PC. If you're fine with mostly indie and Valve games, then a Mac would do.

I have seen some good pre-built models, the HP Elite PC's are pretty good for the price.

As for a Mac, I use boot camp to run both windows and mountain lion so I can run any game that well runs.

Can you link to a particular PC you're considering?

That'll do it, except maybe the video card. The 7000 series is the latest but that 450 worries me. You might want at least a -750 for gaming.
