Last night I beat Code of Princess and finally got around to beating the last few levels of the Mighty Switche Force! dlc. I'll start with MSF! since I can get that over with quickly. It's more of the same, it was a free, 'twas fun. Code of Princess was pretty fun as well! My only gripes though is that I would have felt better if I only paid $20-$30 for it. I got a CD and artbook with it for free, so that's always nice, but that doesn't sooth it too much more. The game play is fun but very simplistic and repetitious. My best way to describe the game is that it's like Tales of Symphony, minus the exploration. It's 100% combat. The game is split up into like 30+ story chapters. You see a cut scene, enter a battle. Quest is over. Sometimes there's a cut scene after if it's a major event. Repeat. Again, it is fun! Just very basic. The game does over a lot of features though. After you complete a quest you unlock a bonus quest so there's at least one bonus quest for each story quest so there's definitely some post game content. There's also over 50 unlockable characters. In the main game you can only play as the main four or five characters I believe (Bermuda, correct me if I"m wrong) but then in Freeplay mode you can play as the rest. Some of them are really good but then there's joke characters that's relatively pointless (or I just don't understand them) such as the zombie. The game also features an online mode. There is Versus where you and up to three other players can duke it out, or co op where you play through quests with each other. This mode is very fun, but there's one flaw to it that I don't like and while it doesn't ruin the experience definitely makes it a chore. You can only play by joining or starting a lobby. So if you want to play with friends, you'll have to set up a password protected lobby and hope your friend finds you (although onlne is kind of barren so it isn't that difficult). It's annoying, but that's not the worst part. I can live with that. However, you can only do one match at a time. You fight/do the quest with the other player and then you get taken back to the main menu for the online mode. If you want to play with this person again you'll just have to hope that they rejoin your lobby. For a one off versus match that's not so bad, but if you're playing with a buddy that makes playing multiple quests really annoying and unappealing. Bermuda and I played quite a few matches though, so it's definitely workable and we had some good fun! I would say if you're interested in this game waiting till it's cheaper, but unfortunately since it's an Atlus game, it probably won't get cheaper, only more expensive. Since that's the case, I'd say go for it if you're interested. EDIT: OH! I also picked up Dead Rising 2 Off the Record for a mere $9 on the PSN and beat it. The game is non-cannon and is a what-if scenario where Frank West was there for the Fortune City outbreak (though he technically was, as evident in the post-game DLC for DR2 but this is if he was the focal point). I haven't played Dead Rising 2, but honestly? In my own imaginary world I want to consider this cannon. I loved it so much and I really dig the Frank West character and like Chuck's story MUCH better in Off the Record: Spoiler: click to toggle

Just beat Paper Mario Sticker Star, and surprisingly, I liked it a lot better than I thought I would! It definitely has some flaws in it's designs (I'm still not 100% happy with the sticker system) but I think they did a lot of things right. First and foremost, I think it utilizes 3D superbly. The camera angles in this game are awesome and really shows off the 3D effects. I also really liked the story. Miyamoto told the team to not use any new characters and really made the story quite different from the rest of the series, and while I don't necessarily prefer this, I think it was a nice change of pace for the series and was something new without actually doing anything new. The lack of partners was quite disappointing but they didn't really fit with the battle style of this game. I think the thing I liked least about the game was the battle system. I think the reliance on stickers to be the only form of attack hurt the game over all. The only advantage it brought to the table was combos. You could utilize your stickers in smart ways to deal massive damage. I really liked that. I just think that they could have worked it out better and perhaps have stickers as special items and not the only forms of attack. I also wish it had an experience system. The EXP is a real incentive to actually enter battles. Since you can only attack with stickers and HP ups are found outside of battle there honestly is no reason to battle anyone in this game. I would really like to hear anyoone try to go through the game without fighting any of the enemies that aren't optional (I'd do it but I'm lazy and want to move on to greener pastures :P) |

I pretty much agree with you there 100%. The game is turning out better than I expected, but these battles just seem pointless to me. I do try to avoid fighting whenever I can, and usually only fight when I can't outrun them. There are certain stickers you can only get from battles, but that's hardly incentive for me. I haven't finished the game yet, since I took a break for Wii U. I should go back to it sometime soon. |

Oh yeah, there are some stickers exclusive to battles, and some of them are actually quite helpful! Like the Boomerang or giant snowball. But yeah, if you're choosing not to battle, battle stickers become kind of pointless or not as important to collect. |
