I don't THINK I saw it mentioned here but the Wii U Deluxe model will be dropped to $299, and I THINK the basic is discontinued. Not entirely sure on the latter. There will also be a Wind Waker bundle with a special edition Gamepad priced at $299.

Smart move. Nintendo didn't have much choice but to make the Wii U cheaper. One of the advantages of the Wii was being dirt cheap compared to the competition, but the PS4 being only $50 more than the Wii U Deluxe did not look good.
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain most stores discontinued the Basic the week of E3.

You can still find them in stores possibly, they are just no longer receiving shipments.

But yeah, the Deluxe at $299 is a solid price, I hope this and all the new games coming out turns the ship around.

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
New Wii U deluxe bundle, which replaces Nintendo Land with NSMBU + the Luigi DLC, all on one disc. Nintendo Land will be reduced to $30 on the eShop.

I know they said Smash Bros would use GCN controllers, but maybe there's a chance they're getting ready for GCN VC games as well. Though the games I want to play probably aren't a priority for release.

That's pretty great, but to be honest, I care very little about using this for Smash (well besides local multiplayer), I hope its compatible with VC games and other future releases. Bought 3 GCN controllers towards the end of the Wii's life for multiplayer VC games like Mario Party & Kart but they more or less became useless once I got my Wii U since I transferred my games. So having my three GCN controllers as options again will be wonderful! Wonder if they'll update older releases like Super Mario 3D World to support it? I mean Pikmin 3 just got a substantial control update this week and that game is almost a year old at this point! I don't think GCN support would be too hard.

The Bayonetta 2 demo is now available to download, should be nice!

Also, all this month the Wii U eShop is getting Castlevania games. Last week we got Dracula X for SNES, and this week we're getting Circle of Moon, followed by two more GBA titles next week.

I love the GBA Castlevania games. Aria of Sorrow is maybe my favorite Castlevania of all.

Yeah I really like them too. I'm a bigger fan of Classicvania, but I enjoy both greatly. Circle of the Moon was the only title I owned previously from the GBA series, but I never beat it, so its fun to go back to it and finally complete it.

I'm also excited to check out the other two this week.

Looks like a huge world. Not sure what else to really gather from that. It does look really nice though. A little on the empty side maybe, but not too much was really shown. I look forward to seeing more. Hopefully we won't have to wait until E3 for another trailer, but it probably won't be released until the holidays 2015. Probably November 21.
