Koopa the Quick!

Since the game is a gamestop exclusive (well and Nintendo.com, but there's little to no advertisement for that route) I'm sure sales expectations weren't obscenely high. If it did 200,000 I think that's great. I don't watch TV anymore, were there any commercials? If not, I'd say 200,000 is a pretty good number for a game restricted to one retailer and had little to no advertising beyond internet and print ads(and the locations of said ads in places where people who would want the game already know about it). I'm also sure the first print wasn't that large. Enough to meet demand and then some. And when The Last Story comes out, it will probably do less sales and still be successful since its an XSEED published title. They know how to work with niche titles and they're only going to make as much as they need. And I agree with Einar, this game will probably do best in America. Although if Japan beats it, its only by a little. |
