So I also just realized. Wonder if this is going to do anything for Indiana Jones?

I'm a bit in my cups at the moment.
I wonder if Harrison Ford wants/can do another one? It would feel weird without him as Indy. It would be like a Die Hard movie without Bruce Willis as John McClane.

I would hope so.

There was rumors going around that George Lucas wanted to have Shia Labouff take over the spotlight in the Indy franchise *shudders* I hope that never happens. Though I am pretty sure Harrison Ford is still on board for another Indy film should it ever happen. Well any time soon at least. . .

New Trilogy will be an original story not based on any expanded universe novels (though obviously inspirations may be taken).

Disney is also considering going the Avengers route and having off-shoot movies exploring individual characters.

What if they made a Bobba Fett movie!? One that actually makes Bobba Fett a competent character and not just the most over rated bounty hunter in the galaxy? *gets booed horrendously* :bobafett:

I'm really hoping Episode VII will be a clean slate, taking place long after Return of the Jedi like I said. I want a new setting. Interesting that there could be movies focusing on certain characters...

I'd like to see VII take place maybe a hundred years later or something. Have a good amount of time pass to get the Jedi going strong again. Now I don't really know anything about the EU, but looking at the wiki, it seems Luke rebuilds the Jedi order in the 20 years or so after Episode VI.

Another small development: Lucas Told Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher a year ago about the new trilogy.

Perhaps they will have some sort of involvement? Would be pretty weird to go through all the trouble just to tell them about more Star Wars films if there's no reason for them to know. . .But like Mark Hamill states in the article it doesn't confirm anything, only thing he knows is that they're making the films and Lucas will have little involvement in them.

J.J. Abrams to direct Episode VII

Well. . .my excitement went down quite a bit after reading this.

J.J. Abrams isn't a horrific director, I just think there were plenty of better choices they could have gone with.

I just hope this doesn't feel like Star Wars Into Darkness or something like that.

And please, leave lens flare out of this dude!

I'm not hip with movies and their directors so I'm not sure what to expect from this. :p

EDIT: Oh, he directed the 2009 Star Trek movie. I haven't seen that. The comment section seems to be enthusiastic about the choice anyway.

The 2009 Star Trek wasn't too bad, I enjoyed it when I first saw it, although for some odd reason I have trouble watching it a second time. I'm still optimistic for the project over all, and they could have gotten M. Night Shyamalan or Uwe Boll and I'd still see it! I'm just slightly disapppointed.
