Backwards compatibility is a nice feature, but like Dragon said, I understand why they're keeping it out, and since I own a PS3 already this doesn't bother me too much. Obviously it'd be more convenient to just be able to pop the disc into the PS4 instead of keeping the PS3 hooked up or around but eh, I got used to it with PS3 losing PS2 BC and Xbox 360 having very poor Xbox BC.

The PSN dilemma is a bit of a buzzkill though. Hope they can figure something out eventually about it. . .

Price point predictions? A comparable computer would run around $500 give or take.

I imagine they will launch it at $399.

I am also curious about the hidden costs their will no doubt be. That impressive online infrastructure they were showing off can't be free.

Yeah, I'm guessing $399 as well, $450 tops.

Let's say they do charge you for all those extra features, if they lump it into Playstation Plus, I really wouldn't mind all THAT much, since I think Playstation Plus is already a phenomenal value (but it's also nice because it's optional).

But, being the cheap jerk that I am, I would much prefer for online to be free :P.

Or at the very least be sensible about it. I will hate it if they go the Xbox Live route and charge you for basic things like the privilege of being able to access your subscription to netflix/amazon/hulu on their console.

I imagine they will allow you to play online and use those apps for free. But everything else will probably run a yearly cost.

Yeah that seems like a logical approach. Offer the bare basic online package for free that will still offer you enjoyment, but then have extra bells and whistles that you can pay for if you so choose.
