E3 is almost here again. Unfortunately I'm going to be missing most of the conferences since I work in the mornings. I get home around noon so I wont have to wait too long before I can catch up on the announcements. Anyone got anything they're looking forward to or hoping to hear? I'd like to hear something from Retro Studios.

I should be able to catch Nintendo's thing on Tuesday.

Also, the info for the Smash Bros. thing tomorrow was leaked already. Part of it had been sort of leaked for a while anyway but it's

Yeah, kinda sucks they were leaked. They're available now on the eShop though. Ryu's moves can be inputed like the Street Fighter games, and they'll be more powerful like that. I imagine anyone who plays a lot of Street Fighter can really dominate with him.

Ryu looks amazing. I really like how they gave him traditional fighting game mechanics in addition to simple Smash-style ones.

Also, out of nowhere, the Treehouse just announced at the Nintendo World Championships that Mother 1 will be officially released (today?) on the eShop as EarthBound Beginnings!

EDIT: Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttKkiEKqwuk Strangely, it's ONLY for the Wii U despite being an NES game. I guess this saves me the debate on whether or not to get it on the Wii U or 3DS...

Wow, Earthbound Begins... That really came out of nowhere. I figured it would just stay in Japan forever.

Been playing it all night. I played a little bit before on an emulator like 15 years ago, but never got very far. I plan to beat the game this time. I'm kind of hoping Mother 3 gets a localization at some point now.

Watched Sony's conference and it was alright. Big announcement was FF7 remake for PS4. I haven't really liked Final Fantasy since 9, but who knows how this remake will be handled. Another big announcement was a kickstarter for Shenmue 3. It's a $2,000,000 goal but it's already hit past the halfway mark in just a few hours. I'm not planning on backing but I'd like to play the game when it gets released. Never played Shenmue 2 though.

Overall for me I'd say E3 was pretty meh this year. Nothing from Sony or Microsoft really hyped me to buy their consoles sooner rather than later (though I still plan on getting a PS4 eventually), and Nintendo's digital event was just so-so. However, I will say, NIntendo's presence as a whole was superb. The Nintendo World Championship, the Smash content, Earthbound Beginnings, and some of the new games announced in the Digital Event were pretty good over all, just not enough of a punch in the Event.

I was happy to see new Kingdom Hearts footage though!

Honestly, for me the best announcement was EarthBound Beginnings. Also the NWC really got me hyped for Super Mario Maker.

Don't know much about Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, but I got a younger nephew and we're always looking for games we can play together. Party games are usually what he's into.
