How much weight should I be able to use on reverse hypers judging by my other lifts?
I can deadlift 430 for 1RM if that helps.

I was using a 35 lb. plate yesterday just to get used to the movement and Jagerboy at bb.com said he sees guys using 300+ lbs. on these.

Is it really neccessary to load up all that weight on an accessory exercise and treat it like a compound lift?

Well man, it all depends. Are you using an actual RH machine? Or are you somehow attaching the weight to your ankle/feet ?

If its on the machine, you could probably use A LOT of weight. Easily in the 100s and 200s...300s maaayyybe. If youre attaching the weight to yourself, youll probably find a good challenge with 150 or less.

Also, you don't need to be going heavy on these. They're a great lift to go heavy on, but they're also great for going light, for rehab or recovery.

Hope this helps,

Yeah, that helped a lot man, thanks for the info. And yes, my gym does have the actual machine.

I guess it's two against one, I will be loading up the weight next week I guess.

Dammit, I hate admitting that Jagerboy is right, he is going to love this. :D

:jay: hahah this smiley kicks ass!

Damn dude you're pretty lucky then. You've got a great piece of equipment!

I'll be checking your log next week to see how it goes.
