Hey there everyone. It's that time again, yes, time for the Squared Circle. Now clearly, there is a lot to be said about this Sunday's gimmick pay-per-view, One Night Stand.

Firstly, With the pay-per-view this Sunday Night, I am amazed at the lack of promotion this show has recieved on the Weekly Programming. SmackDown this week only furthered two storylines, including the hastily thrown-together Kane/Henry feud. I also feel that the show can only suffer by not airing Benoit v MVP. I am also amazed that the WWE Tag Team Championship has not made It's way to pay-per-view since February after another solid tag match this week on SmackDown. Raw this week was better than the two previous weeks, and featured two good matches, but still needs a lot of work. And With that covered, I'll look at Sunday's pay-per-view.

Melina vs Candice Michelle: A pudding match? What the Hell is a pudding match? Just when you think you've seen it all over the years, WWE manage to find another ludicrous gimmick. As much as I love these two, I feel it is a shame that they weren't given a proper wrestling match with the title on the line this Sunday. Candice has really improved over recent weeks, and deserves the chance to show what she can do on pay-per-view. When the WWE have such a strong Womens Division, They can afford to use long womens wrestling matches. I believe WWE have really missed the boat on selling their shows to wrestling fans here once again. I'm backing a Melina win this Sunday.

Punk & Originals vs The New Breed: A Tables match this time. Again, I feel this could have been booked as a strong wrestling match under normal WWE rules and different format, and WWE have missed the boat on that, at least for now. Punk has a lot of potential, as does Elijah Burke. Whilst it could be argued that another singles match should've been booked, this way, more of ECW's talent can get over on pay-per-view. Oh, and It's under Extreme Rules too, which surely favours the originals, and also has to be a relief with Sandman in the contest!

The Hardy Boys vs WGTT: Finally, Something on the show I care about. The World Tag Championships comeback into the major leagues of RAW and Pay-Per-View has really been something to delight in recently. The Hardy Boys winning the Tag championship was probably the best thing which could have happened to the division as they are really over with the fans at the moment. It's cool how they got Cade and Murdoch over as the heels with the two very solid pay-per-view matches, and now the way the angle is playing out with these three teams is intriguing because, for once, It isn't predictable.

Anyway, with regards to the match this Sunday, I am expecting this can be a classic if given a sensible amount of time and booking. This match deserves at least 15 minutes to get over, and should try and get in as many major spots as possible to continue selling this division as something to sit up and take notice of. Expect Jeff to steal the show, I'll go with Hardys to retain after Interference from Cade and Murdoch.

Vince McMahon vs Bobby Lashley: I mentioned in last week's blog about how WWE Creative have me despairing at times over this one. We are all entitled to an opinion, and I personally feel this angle is a complete waste of television time. It's time Mr McMahon realises that he's not the character he once was, and retired from wrestling. The defacement of the ECW Championship over recent weeks is also painful to watch, and I hope this match is cut short much like the one at Judgment Day. Being a street-fight, Interference from Team McMahon costing Lashley the match seems a certainty from where I sit.

Kane vs Mark Henry: If I was in a state of despair before, I may just be weeping with pain at this point. The only thing worse than a Kane vs Mark Henry match under Extreme Rules is a Kane vs Mark Henry Lumberjack match because it completely takes away the possibility for brawling outside the ring, which is what these two do well. Kane/Henry in a wrestling match may cause me to stab my own eyes out with a fork half-way through this Sunday's broadcast. Let's hope this is kept down to about 8-10 minutes maximum to allow other matches to go longer. I can't see past a no contest here, to prevent either man losing heat and continue the feud.

P.S. I haven't seen the Lumberjack stipulation used effectively in WWE for a long time, i.e. In a situation where it enhances the psychology or angle of the match. This Sunday, once again, we won't.

Randy Orton vs Rob Van Dam: What is it with WWE and sticking feuds together at the very last minute before pay-per-views, with no real psychology or storyline angle. This is another of those. The stretcher match stipulation should make for a solid contest though, and I hope this gets about 15-20mins of the show. Rob Van Dam is still an exhibition of offense in these kind of matches, and Randy Orton can excel in contests where he isn't asked to mat wrestle a great deal. Orton is starting to get over as a credible heel now, even though his promo work is still boring as hell to watch, and may be a credible contender on RAW In the future. Rob Van Dam may pick up the win here and work a couple more shows with the WWE.

Edge vs Batista: I know SmackDown has undergone a major injury crisis as of late, and I understand that Batista is the top face on Smackdown at the moment; however; I just feel this match could have been doing with being a multi-person match with maybe Benoit and MVP Included since there was clearly no plans to book them at this pay-per-view. The Steel Cage environment may lead to an entertaining match, and Edge will almost certainly retain, leading to the final part of this feud at Vengeance. With Kennedy returning July 1st, We may be spared Edge/Batista matches in the future, as Kennedy's time to feud with Edge is said to be now. Am I the only person who feels this is a rushed togethr feud with no real storylines?

John Cena vs Khali: Rightly or Wrongly, This is the Main Event of WWE's One Night Stand pay-per-view. John Cena has worked really hard this year to prove he can carry the company, and amazingly, his reward for his passion and drive to succeed is a feud with uhm... a man who can't wrestle. The WWE Title picture was looking at it's freshest for years until right after Backlash, when Khali began to be pushed. Now, RAW Suffers tiring 80's style storylines and bland, psychology-devoid main events. Giving weapons to this match is the only way to improve it, as it means Khali will do less wrestling. But even so, this is a wrestling pay-per-view......

...Or Is It??
