one of the reasons, I didn't like Fallout because its perk system and your, in my opinion lack of as much control over your attributes as TES games

Agreed. It made sense in Fallout because, well, it's Fallout. It's not supposed to be identical to the Elder Scrolls games. I don't like that they're changing so much of the system in ES. It's worked for like twenty years now. Why switch everything up now? |

But it's not like they haven't already tweaked it to the point where it worked really well. Oblivion was a major gameplay upgrade over Morrowind in almost every respect (except the stupid leveling enemies that took most of the challenge out of the game). The only reason people still play Morrowind is because the world in that game is so much more interesting than the sterile medieval boredom of Oblivion. The gameplay definitely isn't as fun, not that it's bad or anything. All they really needed to do was tweak the system a bit more. Perhaps put back in areas of the game that are inaccessible to lower-leveled players to add some motivation to level up. Add in those new features like dual-wielding, an improved melee system, an improved ranged system, and more and you're pretty much good to go. There was really no reason to turn the game into Fallout. Fallout is Fallout and Elder Scrolls is Elder Scrolls. The two games are very different and shouldn't play identically. This is probably just Bethesda being lazy and deciding they didn't want to recode the engine when they make Fallout 4. |

NERDS BEING NERDS! Chances are that the fallout games sold better and most likely liked more by more people, plus I thought the level system in Oblivion was jacked, so it makes sense to change it and include a perk like system. So what if an old system changes, bunny is right, its an old system, it makes sense to change into a more popular format and one that isn't so dang incomprehensible to new players. |
