mass effect 2 was stinky balls for combat. a-fuckin-men to the 800000 hours of dialogue between "fights." you created a cool dialogue system. WE GET IT, BROS oblivion is way more fun, and i'm really looking forward to skyrim |

I thought the combat in Mass Effect 2 was fine. It was certainly miles above the godawful combat in ME1. It wasn't Gears of War, but it was certainly a step in the right direction. |

i think my main beef was how one dimensional it was; every combat situation was essentially the same... find cover, shoot when they aren't shooting. the mechanics were solid, but the execution was very dull. |

The combat became better the harder the difficulty you played on. When you actually have to coordinate your biotic/tech abilities and use them in order to win, it gets a lot more intense and interesting. |

I need a good story to keep me entertained in RPGs, bethesda never really had that drawing power over me except for F3, which was only because I loved 1+2 so much, I had to play 3. |

Both Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls draw any sort of narrative appeal from their lore. The background information is so deep and intricate that it's difficult to not find some sort of immersion in the world, especially Fallout. Oblivion didn't seem to draw too much on its lore on the main storyline and the majority of the side quests, but I did find the Daedric Prince quests to all be really interesting. |
