That's not saying much though, that's an unfair fight.
That's like putting someone like you or me into a game of little league.

My money's on the kids. At least they won't have to stop for a breather on the way to first base.

Anyway, I don't really count Fallout 3 as a FPS game. It was in the first-person perspective, but it was hardly a shooter. I mean, there was obviously shooting involved, but for the most part you click a button and let the game shoot for you, because the actual shooting controls were total garbage.

BioShock, on the other hand, definitely does count as a shooter. I think the overall atmosphere is awesome in BioShock, but the world itself didn't feel as real as the one in Half-Life 2. Plus the ending of BioShock was fucking terrible (as was the last hour or two in general), so it loses points for that, especially since the last chapter of HL2 (super gravity gun, motherfuckers) was pretty much the most epic part of the game.

Half-Life 2 did not have an amazing story, though. Anyone who thinks it did has the game stuck too far up their ass. It had amazing characters, not an amazing story. Big difference. The story itself was pretty typical shooter fare: aliens take over world, lone hero has to unite humanity and stop them, blah blah blah. It's just that all the side characters felt very real and were expertly written, especially Alex. It made the story seem like more than it actually was.

And arguing about how all FPS games are similar is dumb. Look at the two most popular FPS franchises right now...Halo and Call of Duty. These games are literally nothing alike at all, aside from the fact that a majority of people who play them online are d-bags and the controls are similar. And Half-Life is totally different from either of those two. Of course there are bound to be copycats, especially in the most popular genre out there, but acting like every single game is the same is retarded...and queer.

And back on topic, gonna play this DA2 demo today. It better be fucking awesome, since I've already paid for the game.

I pretty much agree with this, but TBH COD 4 HAD THE BEST WORLD AND STORY EVER AND IS THE BEST GAME EVER (BEDLAM LIKE VOICE)

FPS has just gotten really bland and overdone, in my opinion.
I need a change, I can't speak for everyone else, but i'm tired of them.
Marvel's out, and that's keeping me entertained.
Anyways, I barely played dragon age 1, and didn't like the combat system of sit and wait, occasionally press x/y/b whenever the cooldown was up, wait, wait.
Felt like runescape with added buttons and better graphics.
Maybe i'll try 2 since I heard the combat was better.

They went in the complete opposite direction with the combat system in DA2. Now, rather than press a button and make a sandwich while you wait for the game to win itself for you, you have the dubious pleasure of pressing X (or A) for every... single... swing. Enemies don't have less health, mind you. So basically, a battle goes something like this: turn on sustained abilities, use skill, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, maybe heal or pause the game with the combat wheel to check your other party members, use a skill, X, X, X, X,X... well, you get the idea.
