Games just aren't fun once you stop playing competitively once you've been playing comp for so long.

I agree, there's just so much more to competitive play. The whole industry realizes the superiority of multi-player gaming and is shifting in that direction it seems, games are becoming less of an entertainment medium and more of a "sport". Halo, TF2, Call of Duty, etc are all stale now and gamers have basically become a bunch of spoiled babies waiting for their next competitive fix while they whine about how much every new game sucks these days (which they really don't, games have done plenty of amazing things in the last five years).

My problem was never really losing my interest in gaming, just trying to appreciate single player games again after becoming spoiled by so many competitive experiences. And if that's your problem, you can find the enjoyment again if you wish, because I genuinely did. If you're just bored of games in general, the only thing to do is move on for a while.

So play a game competitively. MVC3 and Black Ops are both pretty big right now.

I'm not good enough. That's the thing with TF2. We played it when it first came out, so we all got good at it. Call of Duty has been out for so long, and all that time we spent playing TF2 really cut into our playing time of games like Gears, Halo and CoD.

I need a new game to come out that I really like playing, then I'll play that competitively. Maybe a game like Brink.

Yeah but it's not to late to get better and involved in those competitive scene. Most really good players have reached a skill ceiling anyway. Brink does look interesting. Hopefully it's a game worth playing.

Yeah, that's true. I'm hoping to catch a game that's brand new and play that so that I can become a good player near the level of some of the other good players.

You're right about that, though. We could play competitive CoD if we got together and I'm sure we could win games. Maybe we should try doing that.

It's basically a watered-down Counter Strike, and there's nothing wrong with that.

As far as the topic, I feel kind of the same way, I never really get in to many single player games. I'd like to play something competitively, but work takes up time and whenever I decide I want to get in to something's competitive scene I end up forgetting about it or putting off looking in to it.

Old man tip: There are huge chunks (years) of my life when I just quit playing games. Go do some shit irl. You can't make yourself enjoy something you don't. And when you come back there will be like 10 great games you can binge and they will prob be super cheap. Its the circle of game life.

Also, what penny said.

This year and next are going to have some big single player games.

Elder Scrolls V
Mass Effect 3 (?)
Portal 2
Bioshock 3 (hopefully not nearly as bad as 2 was)

To take a break and come back to these games (just to name a few) would be pretty fucking awesome.

Its called TF2 PC competitive.

Although you wont be very good, it's still very fun playing for a low, low-mid team.
