What was that HP Lovecraft game about Cthulu and stuff?

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth?

Seriously one of the best shooters ever made.

Downfall of this game is the lack of multiplayer.
Really wish this had multiplayer. :ohdear:

Yeah, a bit. It came out last gen, I wanna say '05 or '06.

I would say it's one of the most underrated and engrossing games I've played. The atmosphere is amazing and it stays very true to the whole feel of the Lovecraftian universe. It really shines during the first half when you don't have any weapons. At this point, it's more of a first-person stealth / adventure / puzzle game, and there are some really awesome chase scenes and shit like that that'll have you on the edge of your seat. After you get your hands on some guns it kind of tapers off into standard shooter territory, but it remains an awesome experience.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is another great Lovecraft-inspired game if you can find it. It's only available for Gamecube, oddly enough.

Semi-spoiler: I cried when I saw the memory card get erased on eternal darkness.
