Death is only one way out

The Bear Lake Monster is a mythological lake monster appearing in local folk-lore near Bear Lake, on the Utah–Idaho border.

The myth originally grew from articles written in the 19th century by Joseph C. Rich, a Mormon colonizer in the area, purporting to report second-hand accounts of sightings of the creature. However, he later recanted the stories.[1]

Subsequent alleged reports have given conflicting descriptions of the beast, with some describing it as similar to a walrus and others saying that it closely resembles a Sauropterygia and still others describing it as a larger-than-average carp. The last reported sighting of the monster was in 2004.[1]

The Bear Lake monster also appears in Animal Planet's "Lost Tapes".

Bear Lake Monster has been seen once again today on the surface, revealed in the scattered reports by the authorities. The presence of the monster in the Bear Lake was mentioned by the Native Americans first of all via spoken tradition and now since this morning, it has reached among the top searching terms over one of the best search engines Google and on several blogs across the globe.

But even after a lot of efforts, we could not find any fresh evidence in shape of any picture or video about this Bear Lake Monster but still we can show a glimpse of this creature to our readers. Like several other legendary creatures in the world, Bear Lake Monster has been reported as an extra large walrus but it is not same as the Lock Ness Monster.

Bear Lake Monster has been described in most general folk tales and sightings as a dinosaur basically of around 60 to 90 foot long but it is shown in the videos of Animal Planet that the creature (Bear Lake Monster) is from the ice age. Although we could not find the fresh evidence of today but still some of the sightings stories about this monster can be found easily on the blogs.

Particularly I would like to quote that I read in one of the story where it was mentioned that one of the member of this Bear Lake Monster was captured by someone in 1871. To explain about the credibility of that story is that, Salt Lake City Herald had reported it as well.

All I could find. at the moment

That was interesting. Though I do notice that there are some inconsistencies with what it looks like. Any other local legends you are aware of?

(All of mine are just stupid reports of Mountain Lions.)

Well theres the Local Duckman From Hightstown New Jersey, hes was ugly when he was a child and he was thrown into my towns Lake. Every Halloween Night he snatches Children under age 10 and eats them for revenge.

Its False though. I looked into it and the Lake was still a stream when Apparently he lived.

Then theres the Jersey Devil. Sort of the New Jersey ChupaCabra.

It's Chewbacca!

Sounds really interesting. i've yet to personally see anything 'mysterious' or 'unexplained' but I have seen some unusual animals in places you don't normally see them. Like a bobcat running around near the highschool in town.
