Well, i just started watching the movie adaptation of Silent Hill.
I guess i needed an excuse to chicken out.. So. favorite movie time!

As for myself, i was always more of an anime person (Code Geass, Elfen Lied, Naruto Shippuden, to name a few), so it also shouldn't come as a surprise that most of the movies I watch are animated.. So.. yeah.

Favorite = Surreal dream exploration movie Paprika (Japanese, obviously)!

Oh god the silent hill movies...

Anyway i'm not one to settle on a definite favourite but i'll go with akira
The classic of classics and root of modern action scenes, also theres some stuff about spirituality and drugs but most importantly theres a dude with psychic powers who inspired dragonballz and turns into a giant fetustumor SPOILERS oh wait...

I can't copy image urls with my phone so i'll just leave the ending/best movie scene ever here

I remember that! It was probably the first animated movie i watched! So old! But surprisingly good considering its age!

My favorite would probabally be Scott Pilgrim vs. The world. Or it could be The Beatles: Yellow Submarine. Or it could be Dumb and Dumber. Or perhaps Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

i remember this from my childhood. magnificently psychedelic it was.

I don't have a favourite film, i'm not one to pick favourites and i haven't seen too many films. It's actually something i'd like to change so any recomendations are welcome.

Alien 2> Alien.
And Alien 3 was just a buzzkill of a movie...

i haven't seen many manga/anime things but i really like those miazake films. i'm a big fan of movies like the shining, aliens and T2, the wall, etc. i just love films with a great atmosphere, even films like napoleon dynamite and wall-e are lovely for me.

edit: how could i have forgotten DONNIE DARKO OMGOMGOMG

Hm, well, there's Miyazaki's classic Spirited Away which is pretty much the best movie ever made. Then along the same lines you have Satoshi Kon's Paprika and Makoto Shinkai's Children who chase Stars. When it comes to animated these are pretty much my favorite ones.

Then, if you like real people, there's James Mangold's Identity and David Fincher's Se7en, which are both beautiful movies. All the above are in my opinion the best movies ever made.

A few screenshots, in case you remember any of them;

If you manage to see any of them, be sure to tell me what you think.
I put them in order, if you're wondering where to start..

fantastic, i'll give some of these look. I've heard of a few of them, I'm sure I've seen parts of spirited away but not the whole thing back to back.

Great! Some advice, though.

Try to watch the subbed version, if you can keep up with the subtitles. Most of the time, with the single exception of spirited away where i prefer the dubbed version, the subbed is better. Like, much better. The dubbed is like this emotionless piece of dialogue. Plus Hollywood has the awful habit of changing the soundtracks for their own. Total movie killer.

Tell me if you have trouble finding links!
