That'll teach me to be so self congratulatory, and remember it ain't over til the fat lady sings........ or at least the hairy litle dog!!
After a lovely walk when George had been running around, keeping close by, coming back when called the little bugger ran off..... tried chasing him for 45 minutes to no avail so let him follow me home when he followed me in the swiftly ran out again once he had made sure where I was.
he was out til about 4pm when the neighbour had to let him in when he came back and sat in the back yard wondering where everyone was!
Anyway, he's back now... until the next time he feels like an adventure!

training continues
After ordering a 30ft long lead on ebay I'm trying in earnest to improve George's recall... its going to be a long and arduous journey!
Last night I took him to the field round the back of the house, tied him to a lamp post and tried recalling him from various places....success aided by Good Boy choc drops. he was brill, if only he'd performed like that at the Bronze Good Citizen exam......
today I thought I'd take him to the trees where the rabbits live to work there......... hmmm........... somehow I think that the only way I#ll get him to come back is to dress in a full body furry rabbit costume, he didn't come back once
luckily he was tied to a tree so didn't get very far,well 30 ft away
Well, have to keep trying, one day we might suceed, well, every journey starts with small steps....
