I've heard of is it mountain or moorland rescue referred to before - are they the people who use dogs to track? Well if so - and this is going to sound very daft probably - I'd buy a muslin cloth/new handkerchief and keep it in Duncans bed, taking it with you (use plastic bags to prevent your scent getting onto it) when you go walking in obvious rabbit territory. If there ever is an emergency such as him disappearing down a rabbit hole, you'll have something to hand with his scent on to get him located faster. Saw this on some American animal rescue programme once. Sounds mad, but it seemed to work. |
